    Cuckin trying to save face?

The Russian Defense Ministry suddenly announced Thursday morning, Sept. 20, the closure of the eastern Mediterranean to air traffic and shipping – from the Syrian and Lebanese coasts to Cyprus -due to a snap “military exercise.”
DEBKAfile: By this device, Russia has shut down Israel’s capacity to strike targets in Syria from the sea or from Lebanon. Air raids henceforth can only be launched directly from Israel or through Jordanian air space. Israel’s missile ships are also prevented from reaching waters off the Syrian coast.

This is also Irans chance to ship anything they want to Syria as no way Israel dares to attack anytime soon. Ship baby ship!

DEBKAfile’s military experts point out that this the first time a major world power has declared electronic war against any country. After rejecting Israel’s version of the Ilyushin crash with 15 Russian servicemen aboard as untruthful, Moscow has thrown down the electronic gauntlet before the IDF and pitched the dispute onto a much higher elevation. This challenge confronts Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gady Eisenkot with three tough options:

1.They could have sought a way out of this high-stakes showdown with Moscow up until Monday. But now, it is too late. Shoigu slammed the door shut on a quiet exit. However, Israel is even more unable to give up on its air offensive against Iranian and its proxies’ presence in Syria, despite the escalated risk of a clash with the Russians, because it would cons ute a humiliating comedown against Iran and Hizballah. However, in future, the IDF may be more cautious and select its targets with greater cir spection.

    2. They could meet Moscow’s challenge for an electronic duel. In previous encounters, Israel came of best. In 1982, the Israeli Air Force destroyed a Russian air defense network installed by Russia in the Lebanese Beqaa Valley; and more recently, in 2007, Israeli planes, before destroying the Iranian-North Korean plutonium reactor in Deir Ez-Zour, activated its “Suter” system to “blind” the Syrian/Russian radar protecting the site.

Russian electronic warfare specialists have since sought answers for Israel’s jamming measures, but have found it difficult to catch up with is constant advances. However, this time may be different. DEBKAfile reports that the latest Russian challenge may stretch Israel’s Air Force and Navies beyond their capacity. While successful in coping with electronic antagonists over small targets in the past, they now see the Russian Defense Minister painting a large arena of many hundreds of kilometers covering Syria and the eastern Mediterranean for the new challenge. Israel lacks operational experience on this scale of electronic warfare.

    3. The IDF is much less worried about the impending delivery of S-300 missiles systems to Bashar Assad’s army. For years, the IAF has been practicing combat against these batteries. But for taking on massive Russian jamming across the eastern Mediterranean, Israel may have to turn to the United States for assistance. This request may be raised when Netanyahu meets President Donald Trump on Wednesday Sept. 26, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Dont think the s300 will make much of a difference in terms of limiting Israeli strikes

more importantly Russia has basically taken over Lebanese airspace. Israel will not be able to freely fly over Lebanon anymore. Thats their punishment

Additionally this is a warning from Russia, they already greenlit s300 to Syria and they can easily and quickly do it to Iran if necessary.

in a matter of a few months the following countries will have Russian made air defenses:
    -china s400
    - india s400
    - turkey s400
    - saudi s400
    - iraq s400
    - syria s300

    in process:
    - egypt s300
    - qatar s400
    - iran s300

    thats quite amazing

tAlk about changing the landscape. These russian systems are best bang for the buck defense systems out there and are basically a no brainer for any country that can afford it.

Russian cucks trying to save face

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – The Russian military has established a no-fly zone over the Latakia province of western Syria, Russian Senator and former Air Force commander Viktor Bondarev stated on Monday.

“The establishment of a no-fly zone over the Russian military base in Latakia will prevent a repeat of the IL-20 aircraft tragedy,” Bondarev told the Russian Federation’s Council this evening.

“After creating a no-fly zone in Latakia, it is necessary to announce that any unauthorized objects in the sky over Hmeimim Airport will definitely be eliminated,” he added.

Talking some hard now. Well see. Israel might just give them a second black eye to match the other one

    From Debkafile (Israeli intelligence/propaganda)

Neither Israel nor the US intervened when Iran broke new strategic ground on Monday, Oct. 1 by sending a squadron of 11 stealth UAVs to attack ISIS in E. Syria. DEBKAfile: The attack drones were greater cause for concern than the six surface missiles the Revolutionary Guards launched from their base in Kermanshah in western Iran. Like the missiles, the assault drones cut through Iraqi air space to their targets in Syria, without asking Baghdad for permission; but, unlike the missiles, they also returned to home base by the same route unhindered. Not a single Israeli or American aircraft took to the air stop them.
Therefore, not only is Iran continuing to establish a military presence in Syria in defiance of Israel’s vow to pre-empt their effort – even in Iraq, its Revolutionary Guards have taken a step further and activated a stealth air force from their home base across two frontiers.

Very high tech attack by Iran tbqh

Stealth drones flew into Iraq basically undetected. Pinpointed coordinates using true sight. And fed them to their missiles waiting back home. Then went home on their merry way and watched the firworks

Iran had a strong regional enemy until we deposed Saddam. It would be a cruel joke to say Iraq is better off now.

Also, by invading Iraq, we strengthened Iran vis a vis Iraq and the whole neighborhood.

WWhen Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Oct. 2 that the “unified” S-300 air defense systems in Syria will be installed in Syria by Oct. 20, he really meant its integration in the Russian homeland system. This element of his report to President Vladimir Putin is the key to the real import of Moscow’s response to the downing of its Il-20 spy plane on Sept. 17, for which Shoigu blamed Israel. DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources report that Putin seized on the disaster to establish in Syria an advanced air defense weapons system linked not only to the Russian Khmeimim Air Base in Latakia, but integrated in Russia’s own C3 command, control and communications system against nuclear attack.
This move is a strategic game-changer for American and Israeli operations in Syria. They are no longer taxed with staying clear of Russian and Syrian missile batteries in Damascus, but are facing their first direct contest with the air defense system which defends Russian cities. Shoigu seemed to offer details on the S-300s delivered to Syria. He mentioned 49 units of “radars, basic target acquisition systems, command posts and four launchers.” But he carefully omitted to reveal how the Syrian and Russian air defense networks were to be linked to the command and control center in Russia and exactly how they would function together. A critical question remains open: Is the Syrian S-300 system fully integrated in the Russian homeland C-3 or only partially?
The C-3 is pretty much an unknown quan y for Western intelligence since Russian military engineers have been working tirelessly on upgrades for some months. Israel military officers have wisely stopped boasting that their air force can easily handle the S-300s, having realized that the version of this anti-air system tested in Israeli war games in Greece and other places is more or less obsolete. It has been has been replaced by a far more sophisticated S-300 which is the version shipped to Syria in the last two weeks.
Moscow has therefore substantially raised the stakes of the military contest between Russia and the United States in Syria to a much higher level. Putin has chosen this arena to directly test Russia’s air defense capabilities against the US Air Force’s F-22 stealth plane and Israel’s US-made F-35 “Adir” super plane, to find out which comes out best.
