Coutinho is a classic 10, attacking midfielder not great on recovery. He's would be great for a 4:4:2, but is a terrible fit in a more efficient 4:3:3, because he can't play as forward and with 3 midfielders they must be very dynamic on defense.

Coutinho is low IQ overrated player. I used to buy to the hype too, but seeing him more often I realized the dude just straight up sucks. He will score some wonder goals here and there, that will caught the attention of casual viewers, but in general he's just a dumb player that decides wrong 90% of the balls that go through his feet.

I think he can still be good but with him and Messi having zero work rate defensively it’s going to be suicide for Barca. He just isn’t going to ft with the squad. Which sucks because we desperately need more creativity in midfield. Valverde shoe horning him in as a winger is never going to work.
