A new study by a conservative media watchdog found that CNN anchors associated Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh with "rape" 191 times over just 18 days.

The Media Research Center found that over a period of 18 days, from September 16 through October 3, CNN's on-air anchors managed to associate Kavanaugh with the uncorroborated allegations of "rape" at a pace of over ten times a day — and that doesn't include "the many other instances in which the word was used by guests, or by participants at live or replayed news events (such as the hearing on September 27)."

Meanwhile Team Blue got suckered into becoming the party that shames people for being even remotely skeptical of sexual assault allegations from 36 years ago and demands FBI investigations into the actions of drunk teenagers.

The Republicans were going to appoint a historically unpopular justice to the Supreme Court. It was always going to happen. Republicans hid his records and tried to push him through with 100% partisan loyalty. Democrats could have highlighted this and appealed to cynical independents, but instead they turned into the actual social justice tyrants they'd previously been accused (without as much merit) of being.

I was more troubled by how he handled Kamala Harris’ questions about contacts with attorneys from Kasowitz. His refusal to answer and choice to play games with questions could have been coupled with concerns, like those raised by the ABA, about temperament and fitness to act as a judge. As someone who appears before judges regularly, I can tell you that temperament, evasiveness, and potential ex parted contacts with lawyers are far more worrisome (to me at least) than allegations from 35+ years ago.
