RetroPie is awesome for PS1 once you get it configured, but I remember having to jump through a lot of hoops to enable the digital pad for some games and the DualShock for others. Some games absolutely would not work with my 360 controller configured as a DualShock (I think the Bust A Move games as well as Mega Man X series for example) while others won't work at all with the digital gamepad (eg Ape Escape). A huge pain in the ass to setup, but the Pi 3B is an outstanding box for running PSX games once you do. Especially with the filters you can add that seriously clean up the image. Though nothing touches running ePSXe from a PC. Man that has ridiculous filters and with the release of the Ryzen 2200G and 2400G you can build some pretty small PCs capable of running PSP, Dreamcast, N64, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, and even PS3 emulation now.
Also no way this system will have any Spyro games with that remaster collection launching in November.
