Lol at someone saying Parker wasn't athletic.
Not going to argue if agility is athleticism. There are plenty of players with a ton of vertical, but aren't very agile. Let's just say that Parker was a different kind of athletic. That is the kind without a spring but with a ton of body control.
Lol at someone saying Parker wasn't athletic.
Lol. Not just body control or agility or whatever you call it. Young and prime Parker was lightning quick and blazing fast.
6'2" player who barely could dunk the ball.
Not saying dunking is necessary. But Parker was a unique kind of player. A guard that made most of his points in the paint.
that 4th quarter was a real suffering for viewers imo
People seem to equate athleticism with "jumps high and dunks hard".
Parker was never a high flyer but he was once one of the fastest guys in the NBA and had a motor that never quit.
People also say Steve Nash wasn't athletic but he was probably one of the most fit guys in the league until damn near 40.
Parker also led in a statistic that measures the distance a player has run within a game. Parker could run forever and he was a master at shifting his speed to confuse the defense.
But 'Jumping out of the gym' athleticism isn't what he had.
Parker often had the highest FG% scoring in the paint at 62 (probably closer to 6) beating out all the bigs.
Yep, and he didn't do it by dunking on people. Parker may have dunked less than 5 times in his entire career!
And then Kawhtter is never the same player again and Spurs stole the trade.
lol at someone posting about another man's looks on a sports forum.
Parker is a generous 6' 2". He could dunk pretty easily until probably 2013. How many and what guys were dunking at his height? I feel as though 6' 2" is generous. I'm sure hes right around 6 feet without shoes.
I walked by him at the opening of Malik Rose's Philly Cheesesteak restaurant back in the day. No way he was 6'0". I was actually surprised at how tall he was in person. I would guess 6'2".
Well they usually list guys with their shoes. 6' without shoes is nothing to sneeze at. Average height is about 5'10" in among caucasians.
Understand what you're saying, but I'm pretty sure tony was well above 6'0". Now a guy like Kyle Lowry is a legit 5'11", and it's easy to see on the floor when he's playing. Really makes everything he does that much more impressive when you know his true height. Sorry random tangent there![]()

I stood behind Parker at the Quarry Whole Foods when he was a rookie. Im 510 and theres no way he was more than 6. Unless he grew after he was 19 his 62 was with 2 inch sneaker heels.
I'm 6'2 and went to Spurs vs Hornets game several years ago in Charlotte. I had court side seats and remember Parker walking past me few times while I was standing. We were both the same exact height.
True, Kyle Lowry is short short in NBA standards. Hes got pitbull legs though. Bet it hurts players when his hips bump other players thighs lol.
I was at HEB when.........

Same for splitter. From a lateral quickness perspective and moving his feet, etc, he was very athletic. Poverty ball athletic i guess. Foot coordination. Not street ball/nba athletic
Parker was known to always take his shoes off at Whole Foods joints.
Don't want to get molasses on your kicks.
I was roaming around Brent's house when Parker ed wifey. I'm 10 inches and after he ran just by me, clothes in hands I can tell Tony's the same.
Then there's the question about Derek White. What kind of athletic is he? He's definitely not "street ball/nba athletic", he's also not as slow paced as slo-mo.
