I don't know if I'd be using New Jersey (#2) and Puerto Rico (#3) on your list in any argument about "best" state economies. My point is show the negatives too - taxes, cost of living, unfunded liabilities matter too.
Puerto Rico is a low cost, low tax US territory.

If California is so great and Texas is so bad, why is there negative migration from California and positive migration to Texas?
Who said Texas was bad? All the Californians are moving to Lufkin and Muleshoe.

California is facing close to $1B in unfunded pension liabilities. That state is a mess.

Well austin itself is blue tbh. You see you know its blue because people want to live there

Look at this list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...lation_density

See how far you have to go find a red state lmao
Odd that the "no one" voters won the last election.

Conservatives move to areas where people aren't. You're fairly naive if you don't know the link between social and socialism.

I hope it doesn't come to Austin. I don't plan on selling my home and don't want higher taxes, or that much more traffic. I get how it would be a big deal for Austin and for Texas overall, but personally I'll give a hard pass.
If you're going to come back with you live in Hutto or some shit, then lol.

I don't have to live in Austin to own a house there.

But it would matter if I lived in Hutto. I cannot vote in Austin or Travis County elections if I don't live there, and that means the only thing I have in common is the state government, which is red, last I checked.

I don't live in Hutto either.

A home in which you never live isn't a home. You don't have to deal with traffic in a metro where you don't live.
