or Pop does not really understand what the league has become, or else he really does not care about the game anymore and will want to be among "friends" in his later years coaching the team, he understands a lot about the game, so I doubt he not understands what it takes to be compe ive in the current league (the transformation in the league has been happening gradually for three seasons).

I'm kind of with you on this. There are gaping holes in our lineup. Pop is fiddling with the wrong tools...the Spurs need to be experimenting with some outside help to see what they can uncover. I think at this point he should know Cunningham is awful, there's no perimeter defense, and we're seriously lacking in length and depth. I'm sure there's contractual reasons I'm not aware of preventing it, otherwise I'd be using a roster spot or two for a rotating tryout of G-leaguers to see if we can acquire some more talent.

Bertans is the best option for playing alongside Forbes, DDR, Gay and LMA. Actually having another player that can shoot and that teams don't ignore sounds like a decent start to fixing the starting lineup.

Spurs are 4-7 when Bertans plays more than 15 minutes this season, 16-20 last year. Really don't understand why people continue to advocate for this scrub to get more minutes. He's a nice little 10 minute shooting spark, any more than that and he's a useless traffic cone.
