Didn't read...because there's never a time when I ask a question that I'm speaking to you.
Talked to a co-worker/Baylor grad about Bears Sugar Bowl v Georgia. He’s afraid to go to game because he thinks Bulldogs will stomp them. I asked him if he was afraid of Ga.’s coaches. He immediately said no. He said he’s scared cause Uga has nfl guy at every position. He added that he thinks they might have a chance cause he thinks Fromm sux.
Texas should have better talent than Georgia until Gabriel blows his horn. That is THE problem our coaches have to fix.
non-playoff bowl games have lost their luster. now, it's all about which players will opt not to suit up and which team yields the most complete team. there used to be a time where success in a bowl game could somewhat gauge the upcoming season but i don't see that being so much the case anymore. so, it wouldn't surprise me to see baylor beat georgia but it also wouldn't surprise me if this winds up meaning nothing at all.
Under Chris Ash, Rutgers ranked 46th in the nation in combined salaries for assistant coaches. 46th in the nation. He was offering half the salary other programs were willing to pay assistant coaches, including recruiting coordinators. One of the first things Schiano was given was a doubling of the pool available to pay assistants. The Rutgers AD knew he was handcuffing Ash by not giving him the resoirces necessary to bring in a staff capable of building a decent program. Ash was given less than Kansas gave David Beatty to hire his staff.
That Rutgers has been a disaster isn't because Chris Ash didn't visit enough New Jersey high schools to recruit. Even a blatant phobe should be able to understand building a winning college football program requires having a number of the right individuals in key positions, including Head Coach, AD, assistant coaches and recruiting coordinators. Well, that is unless unless the blatant phobe primarily follows a program that has never accomplished much of anything.
Two bets I would be very willing to make are that Greg Schiano will never turn Rutgers into a college football powerhouse, and recruiting at Texas isn't going to suffer because of the hisirng of the new OC and DC.

Per InsideTexas, one coach Yurich would potentially add to the staff is Houston's WR coach Tyron Carrier.

I'm sold on both Yurcich and Ash. I think both will be an upgrade over last year. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Orlando and Beck was a of a recruiter. But I think both these guys are better than what we have had at Texas since Boom was our DC and Harsin was our OC.
I'm now turning my attention to the WR coaching position. I know who I want. Can we bring over the tOSU receiver coach Brian Hartline? That dude is a witch of a recruiter? My second choice is Samples. Any other candidates?
Props to Coach Herman for taking the time to send some encouraging words to Judson DB Bryce Wisdom, who has been battling cancer.
Was that really seven years ago? Damn
Great post, thank you for sharing !
Charlie might've kept his job is David Ash was able to play during his time here.
