Verlander is a dumpster fire. Gone the way of 2016 Jake Arrieta. Washed up. Too much Kate Upton pussy juice, I guess.

They're right. Some analytics nerds discovered balls are traveling a few percent less due to the colder air this time of year.

Yanks should've had this in regulation. I'd fire the 3rd base coach after game for sending runner when the ball never left infield.

Good game, but good god MLB needs to do something about pitching changes. If you're going to allow unlimited pitching changes, it needs to be near-instant. Should take 20 seconds max. Pitcher doesn't need additional mound warm up pitches. 3 batter minimum rule should help with that next year, hopefully.

yeah... I don't mind a long game but would be good to avoid some things that are easily changed

that's really going to hurt the analytics people and specialization... offenses can just put a left handed batter who destroys righty pitchers and vice versa

He is the best. His NFL knowledge is second to none (maybe Al Michaels) for play-by-play announcers. He color commentates well in his own games because Troy Aikman is a boring dud.

Thank goodness the Astros won, because two 2-0 series with the road team winning both would make for a complete borefest across the board

    6 2/3rds innings 2 earned runs 5 hits.

that's par value though, nothing special

ideally you hold them to 1 through that long, but fortunately for the Astros the bullpen came up clutch.
