Riley showing no signs of slowing down FrostKing
Yes. Saw the shift they put on too

He is no Chipper but better than Francoeur? I am satisfied with starting 3rd Baseman in 2020

Against a lefty too. Be interesting to see how he handles the inevitable adjustments. Last night's homer you could see they were trying to attack him outside and he still went oppo homer. Looks like nowhere in the zone is safe .

    Jensen.
    The leadoff hit batter.

I don't trust him in a playoff big game close.

Now they're blowing teams out. I think they've hit a gear. Anything can happen, but Dodgers/Braves LCS looks likely. On paper, I don't think any other teams in the NL are as strong. Maybe the Cubs, but their starters are a bit long in the tooth.

Hopefully Braves don't peak too early. Starting pitching is still inconsistent (Fried might be sent down) and bullpen stinks. But I think we have a couple trade deadline deals in us so strengthen these weaknesses. Markakis has also been poor for an extended period of time now - at the age of 35....

I was surprised the front office pulled the trigger on Keuchel, I thought Kimbrell was the higher probability. But maybe they simply preferred the financial rental instead of 2-3 year commitment.

I definitely see winning the division in sight and that was not the case a month ago.

Destroyed the Mets tonight. Last year, I called them the next 2018 Red Sox. Their lineup build and offensive style is similar. Speed and don't strikeout (3rd best K ratio in the NL). Acuna basically Mookie Betts of the NL. If they shore up the pitching, Dodgers going to have an uphill battle.

Thank you for the kind words. It is a very enjoyable time to watch the team. Arguably the funnest period of being a sports fan the team is young and not yet failed/reached ceiling

I am surprised Acuna back to the lead off spot has worked again. I hope we can find a true lead off hitter or Albies can mature into that in a couple years. Yes the low strikeouts is why signing Donaldson made sense since he doesn't strike out. There was worry his long ball approach would not mix with our lineup.

I see Braves/Dodgers only play 3 remaining games - in August.

1st Half: ROY, CY-Young and outside shot for NL MVP by Freeman/Acuna

And yet obvious holes. Farm system at the trading deadline to upgrade. Braves are a must see.

Swanson we haven't even discussed here.

Broken record here mid and Frosty but I've had it with the lack of fundamental strategy.

Behind by one or tied. for that matter ahead by one.

Leadoff double, no outs. Or single then stolen base. However, whatever a man on 2b and no outs.
ing Think I'm All That batter and jellyfish manager go for the fail to move-the-runner-over at bat. If they just miss the pitch due to human error, fine they tried. I'm talking about Watch Me Jack A 5 Run Homer at bats. That end in a strikeout. Or pop up.

    Same with pitchers.
Get good hitter 0-2. Often 2 outs.
Ahead by one run so only thing that can kill them is an HR.
Duurrrrrrurrrurrr do not throw a meatball. Throw a ball, or whatever you throw make it out of his zone.
Meatball, HR, tied game blown save or blown win.
Happens all the freaking time in modern day MLB.

What a terrible year for the Red Sox to the bed following a ing 'ship.

With the Rays melting down like I knew they would and the Yankees being handicapped with injury, they would have had an open road to the WS.

Astros though is no joke but I think the Sox have their number.

I know what you mean. Sacrifices, hit & run and bunts seem to be rare these days. I always believed my NL would switch to the DH forcing this change to the game but I guess analytics did it instead.

Today's MLB is becoming as bad as today's NBA

High strikeouts and walks limiting the amount of action.

Home runs are cheapened by the juiced balls and little league size stadiums where pop ups are routinely leaving the yard causing guys to swing for the fences leading to high Ks and walks.
