Republicans in Missouri vote to teach Bible in public school
Lawmakers passed a law 95-52 Monday, explicitly stating students can study Biblical text as part of their social studies.
As the AP notes, passing new legislation specifically aimed at the Bible may have been unnecessary, since
teaching religious texts is not currently barred.
