Yeah, the few leaks I've read have been awful. I won't spoil anything for others... but the biggest offence of these movies IMO is their lack of direction (I have no issue with the cast, acting, or anything else people like to about). JJ Abrams says he had certain things planned from the beginning (lol Lost), but I have to call bull . It feels pieced together one movie at a time. As ty as the prequel trilogy was, at least George had a destination in mind.

Palpatine was a savage

Pretty cool. More hype than 99% of any fighting scene in any of the movies made. More evidence that animation as a medium is fundamentally superior for fantasy and scifi shows than movies ever will be. Imagine how legit this entire franchise would be done with legit animation instead?

BC realistically you watch that fight scene and just ask...ehh why didnt the Maul Bros just throw sidious off a ledge like vader did? smh

i've seen that edited fight, its pretty great. the original has aged terribly tbh

Every single movie made of this franchise will age terribly that's why they keep re-doing the original. They'll redo the they're doing in theaters now too eventually.

Just like the yoda scene at end of Attack of the Clones. Makes the entire movie in memorable.
Although I do admit to liking Rogue One when I saw it in theaters, the stand-alone story, the sacrifice at the end, this vader cherry on top. Haven't had a desire to re-watch it, however.

What I liked about that Vader scene was how scared everybody was. And Vader didn't perform any unnecessary movements. He just strolled down the hallway and sliced everybody up.

Sliced up a bunch of nameless characters. Effect was totally subdued. Just another thing f*cked up; but not so bad by their standards, tbh.

I watched Episode 7 on TV and Episode 8 on a laptop

Might go see Episode 9 with my best friend (his father took us to Episode 1, 20 years ago) since it's the last trilogy for a while. But I wanna watch that WW1 film (1917) more, so we will see I doubt I'll make it twice to the movie theater in the next month. The WW1 film would require commuting to a special theater 25 minutes away.
