I don't agree at all. I love golf. Why do all sports have to meet the "guys running around on a rectangle trying to put something into a goal" design? Don't you get bored of that? Soccer, basketball, hockey, handball, field hockey, waterpolo, all essentially the same sport.

Average baseball game is 3 hours, which I agree needs to be cut down to about 2:30 on average. I'd still take a 6 hour extra inning game over garbage like ties and mini-games, though.

Soccer is perfect for daily watching. 45 minutes is ideal for one sitting. Longer than that and you're basically watching a movie

Baseball was best when I was 12 years old and had all the time in the World all summer long. Some of my favorite sports memories. TBS everyday.

Baseball games can be done in 2-1/2 hours with a typical scoreline. Pitchers have become OCD about every pitch over the past couple of decades. 10-9 WS Game 7 with 24 hits played in 2:36

    https://www.baseball-reference.com/b...96010130.shtml

Pitch clock is coming by 2022. Next year, have the min 3 batters rule. Should speed up the later innings. No more left arm specialists coming in to face one batter.

All of your sports heroes would rather be playing golf, except for povertyball and they'd rather be jerking each other off in the showers. Golf is a gentleman's game. The amount of skill and power required to be "great" is absurd. Plus you cannot hide within the team, you cannot stat pad, you cannot do anything but win or lose. No one can assist you (other than training). Tiger's son won't automatically get a position in the Ryder Cup. No golfer gets a championship when they are injured all season.

Just admit it's more than you can comprehend. You're probably hung up on the "sport" aspect. It's a game just like other games. The term "sport" is the caveat some with a lower IQ like to use to try to elevate their preferred activity over others they cannot play.

45 minutes of watching 400 people run around on a field acting busy and ending with a score of 1-0? no

Baseball was better with steroids. The 1988-1990 version of Jose Canseco was worth the price of admission. The Bash Brothers were like a freak show. You know it's wrong but it's just so damn entertaining. Isn't that the whole point though? Entertainment?

Why are you even discussing sports?

Jesus you're exactly one of them ugly balding fatties who walk around in the office boasintg in the office about his "athletic" achievement while he gobbles dunkin donuts on his mouth.

I agree with this other than the "cheatin'" comment. The athletes should be allowed to use whatever PED they want. If they get busted by the law for illegal use or possession, then the league could save face and deny knowledge.

Baseball? Sure. Football players on PED would terrorize their communities off the field

    "Would"

There are probably less than 50 NFL players not taking PEDs, mostly kickers and punters(and even some of them have gotten got for it)

I don't understand the preoccupation people have with running and jumping as the only form of "physical abilities?" A golf swing is a full body action that requires precise fine motor control to do even half way well. Golfers spend thousands upon thousands of hours practicing. A good golf swing is a more impressive physical ability than running in a straight line fast or jumping high. Those actions have very few mechanical demands. Limiting athleticism to running and jumping is a very narrow view.

I've pressed people who believe that and never get a straight reply. It seems they're more interested in physique than actual ability. I mean, really, what does a sprinter do that's impressive? Win the genetic lottery and then run fast in a straight line for about 10 seconds (after which, they sit around for 6 hours until their next heat)? Oh, but a sprinter is lean and shredded compared to Phil Mickelson. So what? Mickleson's athleticism comes in a different package, full body control over fine motor skills, which is a of a lot harder to master than imposing your will through just being faster or stronger. To build fine motor skill muscle memory takes years and years.

you've watched football your whole life, and you know those beasts are nimble as for their size. They're pretty complete athletes aside from cardio. I would consider an O-lineman more athletic than:

    https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/l...ingle-pull-up/

That is beyond pathetic for a "professional athlete," but since he isn't "fat" he won't be considered unathletic by many. And no, I'm not hating on NHL athletes. I'm using this guy as an example of how we're collectively biased in automatically considering leaner people more athletic. Mittelstadt is a garbage athlete (I'm sure he was drafted because of skill attributes, puck handling, vision, etc).
