Firefly for sure has to be up there.
What in your opinion were some of the best shows which were cancelled before they had a chance to run their full course?
Top of the list for me would be Firefly, followed by pretty much all of Bryan Fuller’s shows that went off the air.
Firefly for sure has to be up there.
The Oblongs
Arrested Development, before the comeback.
It's too bad Rome wasn't able to run the originally planned four seasons. Really quite good compared to crap like Boardwalk Empire that stumbled around for five seasons.
Daredevil probably had one or two good seasons left in the tank if they were cut back to ten episodes each.
I was hoping Berlin Station could wrap up its lose ends in a movie. Bad gamble ending s3 unresolved.
I barely watch network shows during their first seasons anymore anticipating the letdown of cancellation. It's kind of worse with streaming shows because you have no idea about ratings or if it's on the bubble, etc.
Freaks and Geeks was sneaky good.
Most definitely. The comeback is mostly awful.
Deadwood and it's not close. At least we finally get a movie
these are up there
However, I'm going with this one. Arguably my favorite series growing up and it got cancelled roughly halfway through the story. Aired on USA Network in the mid 2000s, so not a lot of people might remember it.
Saved By The Bell: The College Years
Off Centre
But all the the episodes are on YouTube
Better than the original.
Didn't like them canceling 'Last Man On Earth', tbh.
There was a really good comedy circa 90's about an unscrupulous senator and his savage family.
It got canceled quickly after maybe eight or nine episodes. Think it hit too close to home for the establishment.
There was a skit show a decade or so back that I didn't even know about it 'til it was canceled. They were brutally honest about stuff and the comedy was off the hook. I only came across it briefly and then I forgot the name.
They would've had a field day with subject matter like this:
Futurama
Almost Human and Forever are the two shows I was pissed they canceled.
I completely forgot about Rome. I was interested in that show before it was cancelled, and completely blanked on it after that. Is it worth watching what they did get around to making?
I try not to let fears of cancellation drive my viewing for the simple reason that I'd hate to miss something fantastic, even if it ends abruptly with no resolution.
