They were talking about trading 19 + Bertans to move up, in order to get somebody. We don't know who. But the team is already short on 3P shooting. I don't think they get rid of Bertans without knowing that they have another 3P shooter in hand. The Spurs don't throw darts, they play chess. So to me, it seems most likely that whoever they wanted to move up for was also a 3P shooter. Bitade's 31% from the arc isn't enough to let them get rid of Bertans, IMO. We're all guessing, but that's an educated guess.
as a Slovenian and as a guy that follows his old club let me tell you that he did not anwser the calls from his team. So, yea he ghoasted them.

Considering we still have the MLE available and that one of our spots to fill is the shooting big, the Samanic choice looks like there could be a potential interest in Bender. A top 4 draft pick talent could be worth a good part of the MLE and the fact thet he is UFA and coming from bad seasons in Phoenix means we just have to decide if he still has skills and potential to be the guy he was supposed to be at the time of the 2016 draft...he's still absolutely young so he can be part of the young core we're looking to build for a (not so) near future...
You still need to take into account that Slovenian league don't mean much... and sometimes you should be selfish but do the smart move when there's a lot on the line! Taking care for yourself doesn't mean you don't care about others, just that you carring about yourself more than about others... About your example about NY or LA, I don't think it's relevant to the current situation of him which is connect to his professional goal, and your example talk about fame only..

A little more hype about him the more I think about it, he really not much different as a prospect than Sekou Doumbouya who went #15, has the tools to develop into a good modern stretch 4, maybe Tobias Harris/Kyle Kuzma type...

That's $35 million in outgoing salary, that's a lot of salary to take back for a team- No matter what they are sending out.

Luca just like MeTu does not deserve a roster spot. Luca is not NBA ready, he has to gain wait and learn team defense. He is better than a guard oriented Gleague but will waste away as a 12th man, when he should be getting playing time in Europe.
