Could be the Draymond Green of the Spurs
It worked out. Scola's teammate ended up being a more impactful player anyway.
I see some comparisons with Draymond
the relentless energy, the versatility, hmmmm........
The finesse of Samanic, the exuberance of Keldon.......
we are set guys hehehehe
This guy really has the motor of Draymond guys
any comments???
if he had more length i'd say he could strive to be what pj tucker is. i still question he can guard the longer nba wings.
Your takes are . Draymond is one of the best passers of all-time for his position. This scrub was one of the worst passers of the entire 2019 shooting guard class. He won't ever be a creator:
Did you make this? I'm wondering whether Claxton is that guy (next Draymond).
Damn, Calipari with some good words about Keldon, tbh.

Extremely underwhelming writeup. Looks to be another overhyped Kentucky scrub. There's a reason everybody passed on him.
Good value pick, he's like a Taurean Prince who you all curve about why we didn't trade for with Atlanta...
He said "we had him as A top-rated player at his position"
Watched a lot of Kentucky this season. At 29 I like the pick. Has a high motor and doesn’t take plays off. Really gritty type of player who plays within himself. At end of games they went to him a lot of the times. Smooth looking jumper solid three point/midrange shooter and moves well without the ball. Wish he was bigger but oh well.
i like the fact that he's only 19, meaning he probably has some room to grow
He was a freshman and was averaging 13ppg in 30 min with two other good players. I think if he stayed in college, his ppg would go way up and he would have been a for sure top 10 next year.
Ok after watching some vids and reading scouting reports am warming up to the pick
Pros:
Only 19 years old and already has the skills of a 3-and-D player. Shot 38% from 3, got slasher potential, strong frame, good athleticism. Knows how to score in transition and gets to the line about 5 times per game. Can finish through contact and has good touch around the rim. Smart coming off screens to free himself up and get his shot off. Hustle player, will bring some toughness to the team, which this Spurs team really needs. Pesky defender with a defense first mind state. Good rebounder. Can blow by big men when he got the mismatch on the perimeter.
Cons: too small, Danny Green size with a lesser wing span. Very underwhelming block and steal numbers. Doesn't have a lot of hops jumping off both feet. Sow footed, struggles to stay in front of smaller players. Bad assist to TO ratio. Too small for SF, too slow for SG. Slow shot release. Sloppy handles. No left hand, strictly right handed. No off the dribble pull up game, can't create his own shot
The Spurs love for undersized unathletic players is something I never understood. His vertical leap is ok, but he's not fast as far as the scouting reports say. Does anybody have his combine results? We basically drafted a player with the size of an SG and the foot speed of a PF.
He does have a ton of potential though, as his stats for a freshman are pretty good and he'll likely improve. The guy is a hard worker and fits the culture. Defensive potential is there and he can work on a lot of things offensively to make his game more versatile. Right now I'd say his release has to be faster, his handle tighter and he should work on off the dribble pull ups. One thing that worries me is that he played against smaller players in college, he will most likely be undersized in a lot of his match ups, which then raises the question if his defense and rebounding can still be as good in the NBA as it was in college.
In an ideal scenario he somehow grows another inch or 2
That's a very good point! The fact they went to him at the end of games, says a lot. At #29, Spurs may have a steal.
He'll be 20 come October.
People rarely grow inches after 19
