Has a skill set we could use. But do we want him to take minutes from Gay, Bertans, Poeltl, and Samanic?

Why? He has no upside over younger players. And is not as good as Gay.

As I said in my stand alone thread. Our roster is full. So it's not about money. It's about losing someone creating space.

    Gay is injury prone.

We dont need someone as good as Gay. We need someone to back him up. Finding players with upside with our MLE is almost impossible. You find vets with that money.

I would just assume that we can cover that spot with three guys on our roster.

On the one hand, the rotation is seemingly set. On the other hand, they clearly have a big hole to fill and whoever it is needs to be capable of wearing many hats given the awkward roster composition. If they sign a rotation player, he makes sense (Vonleh, who they were rumored interested in last off season, could too as a fallback) . . .

    - There's been endless debate about what 3 and D wing they should target, but the reality is, they're already overloaded from 1-3 and no realistic options checks all the boxes (Spurs material, good shooter, requisite physical tools to defend big wings).

He's not a wing defender, but he'd be as good an option as any on this team to defend big wings.

    - There's also been some debate as to whether the third true big should be more of a traditional or stretch type, but he can offer a little of column A, a little of column B. He's long armed, a solid two-way rebounder and combined both % and volume from 3 last season.

If they're determined to start big but need another shooter to make it work, he'd suffice.

Pass, if we're going to sign a PF we need someone that's going to be better than GAY.
