So who is the starting SF for our team then? Carrol and Rudy off the bench. Doesn’t sound too bad
My guess is Poetl, Aldridge, Derozan, Walker and Murray are your starters. Rudy is your small ball four, Carroll replaces Demar, Forbes replaces White and White replaces Murray. Marco and Patty fit in somehow with veteran roles.

I'm not excited about the signing, but at least it shows they're looking to improve that position

Walker will not start. Pop fell in love with Forbes last year. He will be the starting SG next season.

You'd think a trade would be coming to make sense of this roster, but they almost never make a trade to alleviate a logjam. Still, right now, 2 of the 3 of Bertans, Belinelli, Walker, won't be in the rotation. Sure, the likes of Murray, Gay and Carroll, are likely to be given more than a few rest games, but still. Too many rotational bodies, no clear, coherent rotation and no third center (Kornet?).

Short term the old guys. No problem.

Is this guy related to Joe Barry Carroll?

It’s not surprising seeing sas lack of commitment to pushing hard to win now. I called the mle being 2 years for SA since their plan seems to be to hedge and maintain for 2 seasons until they can change things with DeRozan and LMA off books.

Given that mindset Carroll is a good get for that plan.

Disappointed they aren’t really truly trying but not bad.

For those who aren't aware. In April, DeMarre Carroll wife had a few things to say about his free agency.

DeMarre Carroll says that his wife will be making his free-agency decision this summer: “I'm dictating this free agency," Carroll said his wife told him recently. "It's been 10 years and I've been sitting aside” and she said it's my time. So it's her time, all I can do is sit back. I hope my wife picks a good destination and hopefully its back here but we'll see what happens.”

I seriously doubt that . I know Pop is an idiot at times but even you can see the gap in talent between those two. Unless something dramatic happens before the end of the season he is most likely starting.

Ten years too young compared to Carroll. SJ won't be a Spur until the year 2030.
SJ will not be in the league in a couple of seasons much less 2030.

Kinda surprising but SA is a nice family city. So for someone at his age I suppose it's understandable. Maybe his wife wanted to ensure wherever they went had absolutely no nightlife

Dude Spurs always seem to sign a guy thats damn near washed up.
Not sure about washed up but on the tail end of his careers I don't mind as much. This guy can still contribute unlike Dante and Quincy. Hey will be a veteran presence that sets the example to the younger guys on hardnosed play. Spurs should thank his wife. Apparently he was leaving the decision on where to sign to his wife.

Now sign Patrick Beverly on the cheap, offload Patty or demar and call it the best offseason the spurs could hope for.

I would love Walker to start

But come on. Mills didn't play the last 18 minutes of a game 7 because he was playing well. It's because he was Mills.

Mills is getting his 20 minutes. Forbes has Pop's trust. White might not have his trust but he's been around. Murray is getting minutes as the future.

Walker will get his garbage time and DNP-CDs.

Sad but it's the future, with DeRozan, Marco and now Carroll at the SF.
