Spurs finally making coherent offseason moves.

Seconded

Indeed
Started watching the few Brooklyn games I still have dvr'd.
Only 1 quarter in but early impressions and overreactions are his defense is trash, lol
With this signing and no other move. I see this lineup for the upcoming season:
1. DJM, Forbes, DDR, Gay, LMA
2. White, Mills, Carroll, Bert, Poeltl
3. LW4, Beli, KJ, Luka, Metu
But... something tells me that a trade is incoming. I can not see LW4 and Beli being 3rd strong this year and Luka may get more minutes than expected if Bertans ends up in the doghouse. If a trade does happen I see it involving Beli and/or Bertans for a pretty good PF/C. If that happens then this is the lineup I would like to see for this upcoming season:
1.DJM, Forbes, DDR, PF/C, LMA
2. White, Mills, Carroll, Gay, Poeltl
3. LW4, KJ, Luka, Metu, Open
If LW4 plays well to start the season I can see him moving up from the 3rd string and bumping one of Mills/Forbes down in minutes.
Hes old tbh and his best years are behind him.Hes a vet presence and insurance nothing more
So, Gay, Carroll, Bertans and Samanic. Plus Poeltl gets his token minutes along with LMA. I still can see Bertans getting traded here.
Yeah, I like Bertans but wouldn't object to a good trade at this point . . .
Spurs need to trade Belinelli or Bertans to Brooklyn for Harris
This is a solid pick up. Cheap too.
So that gives us:
Dejounte
Demar
Derrick
Demarre
Next target, Demarcus?
Yeah, at this point Carroll is more of an ilusion of a 3 and D player than a reality, but at least he isn't Cunningham or Pondexter. Hopefully PATFO can find the next Danny Green to mold into that real 3 and D player we so desperately need but for the time being Carroll should do.
Not too excited but not an awful deal. Dude played like dumpster juice in the playoffs last season. Last really good year was his last one with Atlanta

Nobody thought PJ Tucker would have renaissance before he got picked up by the Rockets
You know what that is, is three fairly solid rotations. Nothing in and of itself that scares you but collectively, they will wear teams down with defense and attacking offense.
I think I like it.
This is a really good 15 man roster. Not really a 'scrub' on there like normal rosters go.
Either established vets, up and comers, promising youth, and the championship pedigree/culture of Mills and Belinelli anchoring the end of the bench. Break in case of emergency guys.
Best of all you're only integrating three out of 15 guys and Carroll should have a low learning curve. Luka , Johnson and Metu work on their game in Austin and move up depth chart in 2020.
Uebanks will be part of the roster before Metu will be.
I think it makes more sense to start him. The idea of signing a veteran "3 and D" player is to buy you some minutes wearing down the other teams' best player at the start of each half.
I think a nominal starting spot playing 18/20 minutes is the most reasonable role for Carroll.
Rotation I would like to see:
Murray, White, DeRozan, Carroll, Aldridge
Forbes, Walker, Bertans, Gay, Poeltl
Rotation Pop Will probably play (barring more moves):
Murray, Forbes, DeRozan, Carroll, Aldridge
White, Mills, Belinelli, Gay, Poeltl
