Shows how disloyal Warriors were to treat Iggy like that.

Do you think Iggys comments about his injury had anything to do with this?

Added offense since Klay's not gonna be a 100% even when he comes back. But it weakens their defense. Hoping White and Murray to feast when they meetup

Iggy talked about the Warriors recently on the breakfast club and on first take. He pretty much asked to be traded after what he said about them. Granted what he said could be true but like any job when you openly talk about your employer you risk termination.

    It's for Durant.
Edit, I am wrong about this. So what are Nets getting out from doing this trade?

Signing a left handed Monta Ellis and jettisoning the heart of the team is a total panic move.

warriors’ options were as limited as it gets.

they couldn’t just stand pat with no kd and no klay (for the season).

They added a 23 year old who just had his best year and is entering his prime and traded a guy who will turn 36 this season. Hard to see why anyone is criticizing this.

Warriors should have focused on getting more depth instead of one big name, tbh. They could have probably withstood Durant's injury last season if they had more than just 4 players worth a damn. They need a couple of role players who can hit a three other than Cook.

With no cap space, they still signed one of the best free agents available and got a pick. But it's a really odd fit.

They couldn’t - they had no money; the only reason they got DLO was because it was a S&T. There was no other alternative. It was DLO or nothing basically.

Impressive that they landed a big fish with not having any space, but they are hard capped now and will struggle to fill out their roster. They are going to lose many of their other players now too.

    Can they use the MLE?

Also, Warriors should have been able to atract the best vet minimum options last season. There's no excuse to having such a poor supporting cast.

Can they offer Demarcus Cousins much money? Maybe they will try and retain him.

People here have no interest, but I'd love to get Demarcus Cousins. I think Pop might be one of the only coaches who could get the best out of him. Another player I think Pop could take up another level is Russell Westbrook. I think they both could reach their ceiling under Pop if they are injury free.

Now with Iggy aging, same with Liv their role players aren’t as good. They only had the tax-payer MLE too, which is significantly less than the full MLE. Vets used to go to win les, with no KD and Klay out, its not as attractive.

I”m not sure I would have done a S&T and gutted virtually my entire roster but they are pretty smart usually and collected the most valuable asset they could. My guess? They trade DLO this season and get other assets they like better.

They can offer Cousins a little more than what they signed him for. They don't have bird rights. Similar to how spurs dealt with Gay.

Meh, they’re not a threat so doesn’t warrant a “goddamnit.” Iggy was old and washed up but he was still one of their most important pieces and played with a lot of heart. His impact won’t be easy to replace. Plus I rather face a defensive challenged backcourt in Curry and DLo.

Warriors will make the playoffs, but this doesn’t put them way above other teams like they were with Durant around.

I don’t know if GS makes the playoffs; I don’t see them running Curry into the ground when they can essentially get a free lottery pick that they would never have a shot at normally.

Plus, their team will end up even more gutted watch. Losing Iggy is not the end. Other role players are going to be casualties due to their hard cap now.

I just don't want Cousins going to the Lakers for cheap, especially if Kawhi goes there. I'm worried he might go there and regain him form. Plus he played with Anthony Davis in NO, so AD might try and recruit him.

He still has some development to do with his decision making, shot selection and defense, but that Kerr system gonna make him much better, when Klay return they gonna shoot out teams without need to play defense most of the time, and they still have two great defensive bigs in Green and Looney, Curry/Russell/Klay/Dray/Looney, with a Boogie as sixth man is scary team...
