Great question
He's barely above a Keith van horn scrub type
Wtf???
getting excited about this scrub
You must be a lakers fan it’s ok keep hating .
What has Marcus Morris ever done maniga?
He’s a solid pick up. An upgrade from bertans. Averaged 14 points in 27 minutes ( which he probably will get) and a good defender against bigs. Which we can’t say about bertans.
He's an upgrade which is the best you can hope for with this FO.
After reading the OP I know it's a great signing.
Good offense, good defense and we need forwards. Very productive veteran.
Because he’s a solid pickup... Nobody’s saying we’re favorites to win it all now. Calm thy s.
Cuz he's great for 9 mill - 11 mill
If he can give us 12-14 ppg as a starter that be big. Saying we have Rudy Gay walker Carroll and I believe Forbes coming off the bench
Cunningham & Pondexter
or
Morris & Carroll
Yuuuuuge talent and flexibility upgrades
calling it the best off-season in years
Because he's easily the 4th best player on this entire team that's why. And he complements the other parts perfectly. For the salary we had available he was the best option out there
Exactly! You get what you are paying for. Unfortunately many teams pay too much for not enough productivity.
I don’t know a lot of bas s here love posting anti-spurs/ spurs fans post here. Get some life idiots!
need a no tolerance enforcer on the team
I am agreeing with this over-hype to some extent based on PER alone - less than replacement level. https://www.espn.com/nba/player/_/id/6462/marcus-morris More than an enforcer the Spurs needed talent! Time will tell if he is any good or not I suppose.
Who else do you see having that exceptional talent! that would have signed for the MLE?
Is this another DeMarcus Cousins thread?
It’s definitely the best offseason since the LMA signing. Obviously the years after that were all pretty lackluster, so not a high bar. But saying it’s the best in years isn’t some huge statement
Kept the promising younger group intact. Got an intriguing development pf. Didn't screw up cap and contract situations. Traded a guy who had some promise but issues with his knees for a quality minutes eating back up sf. With mle got a guy in his prime who is a starting level combo forward that has a game which fits well with the roster on paper. Add in that for the last couple of years since he seperated from his twin Morris has appeared to have his head screwed on right and been developing his game.
Spurs fans feel like last years team did alright to be a good 7 seed considering that we had 2/3 guys out or hobbled all year that were projected to be key peices. Get them back and shore up our weak sf and pf rotation a bit. Watch the GS roster implode and suddenly we feel excited about the upcoming year.
I don't feel Iike its a game changer signing but I do feel like this team has a decent shot at getting hot in the playoffs and making a nice run. Also feel like at some point they are going to get curb stomped by a team with big names during the year and how they respond to that will determine the season's and teams outcome.
