I'll go off perception and not cheat by looking at career OPS, WAR, etc.

    1st, LF: Rickey Henderson
    2nd, SS: Ozzie Smith
    3rd, CF: Willie Mays
    4th, RF: Barry Bonds
    5th, DH: Ted Williams
    6th, 3B: Mike Schmidt
    7th, 1B: Albert Pujols
    8th, 2B: Robert Alomar
    9th, C: Ivan Rodriguez
Pinch: Tony Gwynn (I want a contact hitter here, for high leverage situations, where strikeouts kill you).

    Staff:

    1. Pedro Martinez
    2. Sandy Koufax
    3. Greg Maddux
    4. Randy Johnson
    5. Roger Clemens

BULLPENNING, LOOGIES, etc. Set up man and closer. That's it.

    Set up: Dennis Eckersley
    Closer: Rivera

    LF Hank Aaron
    CF Ken Griffey Jr
    RF Dale Murphy
    1B Eddie Murray
    2B Frank White
3B George Brett (no honest debate really)
    SS A-Fraud for sure
    C Johnny Bench

    SP Randy Johnson
    SP Roger Clemens
    SP Roy Halliday
    SP Pedro Martinez
SP John Smoltz (much more clutch than Maddux)

setup - Wade Davis - from 2014-2016, best reliever ever
    closer - Mariano Rivera

Yes! I think one a dream team like this I like Pelicans pick of Smoltz. He'll come outta the pen if need be.

FYI Maddux got the Save in Game 5 of 1998 NLCS

    No Ruth or Trout?
Is this retireds only? I see Pujols in there.

Barroid Bonds does not count. If you want him in pre roids, fine. After he became lab rat, lower his stats by 30% accross the board.

More than that. He wasn't going to be a 40 HR guy late in his career. He probably would've been a 22 HR guy by the time he was hitting 73 HRs.
