“I’ve seen people and I know some people that, through that energetical [sic] transformation, through the power of prayer, through the power of gra ude, they manage to turn the most toxic food or the most polluted water, into the most healing water,” Djokovic said

“I just cried for two or three days.” So says Novak Djokovic, the new world No 1, as we speed through the streets of Paris in a shiny SUV. “I cried after I had the surgery on my elbow. Every time I thought about what I did, I felt like I had failed myself.”
ing Rafa man... Dude's mental for ude is on a different stratosphere when compared to Fed's. And I say this as a Fed stan.
He is relentless.
Like I said before I don’t think he is the most talented, but on the clay, it plays right into his strength of winning long mentally taxing rallies.
This being said, time, along with wear and tear of his strokes, can get him beat on his best surface. Looks like he’s healthy. It’s tenuous though.
If he’s healthy, he is totally unfazed and just seems like losing does not ever enter his mind; as long as he is standing. He seems to always believe if the matches keep going he will eventually win. Somewhat like his favorite football team did this year in the CL.
These kind of players… I wonder how comfortable they are after it all ends. When they don’t grind through huge exertions anymore after so many tournaments. These individual sports are a different beast.
Been trying to find a replay of the match but have come empty handed thus far. Sounds like a must watch instant classic.
Nadal wins. The finals were anticlimactic. He destroyed that Ruud guy.
And he did it on one leg
Next gen and next next gen prolly be getting curb stomped by Rafa/Djoker for another 2-3 years.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see one of them do the impossible and win a GS on the wrong side of 40.
I think Nadal might be close to done.
He had to have injections. He cant keep doing this treatment.
Idk man, I've counted him out a couple times before and have been proven (really, really) wrong thus far. Now, I'm gonna assume he's gonna keep fighting on the courts until his leg literally falls off.... "till the wheels fall off"
Massive props to Nadal, amazing year so far
Nadaaaaaal
My nikka
Nadal has to be considered the most difficult opponent of all time.
I still have a hard time with calling him the best of all time considering what Borg did and then quit so early.
The supposed comeback was so half hearted. Borg definitely the quickest of all.
It so hard to compare when the rackets changed so much.
Sampras just getting bored and really never changing his game to meet some particular challenge.
Even McEnroe not having a sports psychologist work with him. He needed someone to calm him the fk down. McEnroe, with those crappy rackets, could put his serve where ever he wanted and at whatever speed the racket was capable of. The volleying of McEnroe and the touch was other worldly.
Very difficult. There is no Jordan imo.
Maybe Joker regains his sanity. I have a feeling that other kid from Spain might be the next dominant player. Give him two years.
Well it's hard to compare eras tbh

RiP ATP, tbh."I can walk normal most of the days, almost every single day. That's for me the main issue," said the 36-year-old Spaniard at Wimbledon on Saturday."When I wake up, I don't have this pain that I was having for the last year and a half, so quite happy about that.
"And second thing, practising. Since the last two weeks, I didn't have one day of these terrible days that I can't move at all. The feeling and overall feelings are positive."
He’s playing Wimbledon without the injections apparently.
I am still stunned about Djokovic's principles over his entire career. Such a bizarre hill to die on. Wimbledon will be his last GS of the year. Oof.
I see what you did there
Considering the other comments he's made on modern medicine, his stance on this particular issue is hardly surprising. Dude's just an idiot, tbh.
Yeah true. He refused to get elbow surgery for the longest time because it means his body isn't pure. I love him on the court, but off the court he's as insane as Kyrie
Seriously.
If one tries stuff like this on the political board in never works.
"What cryptic language are you trying to speak peagarden?"
The clay to grass switch is incredibly tough.
The number one seed lady got beaten.
If Nadal takes this one it will sort of be by attrition. But it will also be because he is by far the greatest on clay and can adapt.
Grass really should not fit his game at all. Borg won Wimbledon 5 times in a row, and the French Open 4 times in a row.
For such a short career.... holy ... And I say short because he tried a comeback and it was useless. He wanted nothing to do with Tennis.
If Borg had his athleticism and Nadal's head...
