Rafa pulls out.
Really wanted him to play the nutty Australian who is supposedly also injured.
Pretty good comeback by the Djoker today.
Fingers crossed for a Rafa v Djoker finals.

Saw this. Joker down 0-2 and even early in the 3rd. Guy is a machine today.
I used to watch tennis quite a bit. Really enjoyed the years where there was a reasonable expectation that one of the favorites might not win. Thinking of guys like Agassi and Chang. Here's a link that you only have to glance at to see how dominant the big three have been. About 10% down the page I guess.

Look at Borg 1976-81
And then he retired.
My God.
Your list is where I understood how good this guy was. No US open Championships because he was horrible at night. He could not see. The later stages of the US open were played at night.
If you watch old you tubes of him its clear to me he is most likely the quickest tennis player ever. His side to side movement was other worldly.
He would have made a fantastic short stop in baseball.
Borg's retirement crushed McEnroe. McEnroe stated Borg was so good he got severely depressed about not being able to play him. It gave McEnroe what he thought was a real goal. But again, tennis was such a different sport back then. Borg had his rackets strung at such a high tension (to get pace on the ball) they would often just fold up on him.
Also Sampras basically called it quits because the faster surfaces were a bit too easy for him.
This is why it is possible sports psychologists might be important for individual sports. Its such a grind.
Oh. I found out some of the chess guys use psychologists. I just find it amazing. I would definitely burn out if I was actually that good at one thing.
Borg was brilliant. And it's hard to compare those guys with the current generation. Training, equipment, etc. I used to play tennis as a little kid and started off with a wood racquet, then aluminum. Then picked it up again in college as a rec class and had a wide body graphite (think it was graphite) racquet. Not withstanding the power gain, it was so damn easy to use.
I assume you saw the Borg movie?
No I did not.
Ive watched the you tubes.
le? Is it currently streaming?
And I know he tried to commit suicide.
I think it's on HBO. Not sure. Borg vs. McEnroe.
Yup, Djoker and Rafa gonna keep winning for a while.
Gutted nadal had to pull out, dude is such a warrior.
This was djokovic’s last slam of the year but I reckon both him and nadal will still be up there next year.
Joker did it again
Not coming to USA Open. Fail for Americans.
This Slav gonna power into GOAT
Crazy Nadal hasn't beaten Novak in a non-clay Grand Slam since 2013. I think Novak will play in AUS open and will get his ban overturned. Hopefully we can get some final Nadal/Joker matches before all is said and done.
There are plenty of great players, US open is gonna be fine without that self centered ass clown![]()
Sir, you are stock piling the L's
No one watching without the Beast from East
Some crazy upsets in Tennis in the last 24 hrs.
Kyrgios vs Med was not entirely unexpected but Tiafoe bouncing Rafa is a shocker.
Kind of poetic justice with Nadal going out with the way Djokovic is being treated
poor victim
Tiafoe looking solid boys and the field is wide open.
I meant Świątek
Big time props to Alcaraz. Kid is definitely legit.
Can't wait to see how he follows up on this spectacular year.
Thus begins the end of the big 3 era
Wonder if Alcaraz, Rudd, Sinner and co. will manage to keep the other two from winning slams. It's prolly the only way they will think about hanging up the racket.
