Sean before his knees were shot was quick. Him going baseline is for a slam was money. He had a super quick first step (hence the Ninja nickname), but then the NBA singled him out as the example for the new rule calling a travel. Crazy when you think about what players get away with now.

mings was such a solid players early on. Lots of muscles and finesse. Another guy that ended up with shot knees. I remember him on his last legs in SA and how he would catch the ball in the post, turn and face, then do 10 really slow jab steps left and right before making a move. It was “TC shoot the damn ball or pass it!”

This team had so much promise and then it completely fell apart. TC was too old by the time the Spurs were ready to dominate.

Would ya'll say that era was one if not the best starting five in Spurs history?
So much raw talent and scoring ability 1 through 5.

This 89-90 video was the first version of it (though only half a season's worth) but they still took the eventual WCF champs to game 7.

    Rod Strickland age 23
    Willie Anderson age 22
    Sean Elliott age 21
    Terry mings age 28
    David Robinson age 24

Yes definitely. Got to see my first spurs game this season when I was a kid. Was super stoked. I didn’t take losing to the blazers very well.

Watched this vhs about 1000x as a kid with my bros. Right around the same time we went to card shows at San Antonio hotels.

    Good times...

Which makes what happened the following season that much worse. Getting skull ed by RUN TMC in the 2 vs 7 matchup. What a let down. Like Baseline Bum has mentioned before Nellie outcoached LB.
