    Been watching some, lately...

I was reading about the 1980's Cardinals the other day. Played in 3 World Series (1-2). Winning the only one they probably were favored to lose

Anyway this 1987 WS was about as "boring" as a 7-game series could be. Home teams won each game and I believe no scoring in the 8th or 9th innings. I think only 1 run scored in the 7th and overall only a couple lead changes. Each game was decided early on

Also - Twins admitted in the 2000s that they screwed with the fans within the stadium to help their hitters and hurt opponents

That Twins crew won two seven game series by winning every home game and losing every road game. The series against the Braves in 1991 was a true classic.

    Good thread, derp.

Ya'll post some more. Last year I watched the entire series between the Yankees and Red Sox 2004 ALCS. Made me appreciate it even more.

Both series were 3-2-3 format, Twins found themselves down 2-3 both times

Yah 1991 is ridiculous. 5 - 1 run games. 3 extra inning games. Rare series winner was outscored.

Yea, I was just looking that up. That's crazy. 8-0 at home, 0-6 on the road.

87 Twins RS: 56-25 at home, 29-52 on the road.
91 Twins RS: 51-30 at home, 44-37 on the road.

The Twins relatively new ballpark may be better for baseball and the fan experience in general; but it could cost them rings.

I saw Randy Johnson pitch live a couple times. It's different than on TV; in RL, his pitches looked totally effortless.

Also, Tony Gwynn was great. He hit over .300 in all of his 19 seasons following his .289 rookie season. And of course baseball went on f'ing strike when he was about to hit .400 for the first time since Teddy Ballgame.

In 1983, the Oakland A's sold me to the Detroit Tigers for $100 and a bag of balls. I had to deliver the balls.

Never get tired of watching these.

This was the series that my Red Sox fandom was cemented in stone. My father was incredibly livid being a die hard Yankees fan. That just made me even more of a Sox fan.

    "We'll see you later, tonight".

Leave it to Buck to make awkward pre-planned call.

Of course he considered his walk-off call. Damn, eunuch; you need to get a handle on your grudge posting.
