Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on Wednesday she was surprised that President Trump canceled a planned two-day state visit to Copenhagen next month over her refusal to entertain the sale of Greenland to the United States.
The Danish leader also lamented the missed opportunity to celebrate the historic alliance between Denmark and the United States, saying preparations for the visit had been "well underway."
Danish lawmakers from across the political spectrum and former government ministers who

“It’s an insult from a close friend and ally,”

If you had told me 3 years ago that the president of the United States would ask about buying greenland then throw a hissy fit at Denmark for dismissing the absurd idea as absurd, I would not have believed it.
