week 1: seahawks over bengals
This year instead of Pick'ems which get pretty boring after awhile (we can still do those in the GTs, and you can count them up yourself if you want) let's try something different.
Everyone picks 1 game all 17 weeks, by no later than Sunday morning, as their "survival" game. If their survival pick loses, they are iced.
As an iced zombie, for the next 3 weeks following your first defeat you have to pick 3 survival picks right each week, if any of these go wrong you are dead and officially out of the game for good.
If all 9 picks in 3 total weeks validate, then you are no longer iced, and only have to pick 1 game again each week thereafter, but still on your final life. So at this point, your ultimate survival depends on each survivor pick, and if at any point you lose a survival game, you are dead and out of the game for good.
All picks are straight up, and NOT "against the spread". No editing posts after 1pm ET/12pm CT/10am PT of the given Sunday. No TNF picks, with an exception for Thanksgiving. No alts, if you're already using your main to play. Anything else goes. Ultimate Survivors get a prize, and if there are multiples at the end of the regular season, compete to the death in the NFL playoffs. In such a case, those who were never iced get a picking advantage over those who were iced.
My Survivor pick for Week 1, 2019 (Millennial_Messiah)
Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles
by the way, there's no rule that you HAVE to pick different games from the posters above you.
In that case I'll go chargers over Colts
I get it. It's a good pick because of recent tragic events. I just wanted to specify.
That GB dude needs to pick all the games still. I might use some of his picks whenever I'm in Vegas.
Eagles beat Red Skins.
Common sense says the Chargers should win by 30, but I don't trust them in September
no wrong picks yet, but chargers and seahawks made us sweat
Eagles made me sweat big time in the first half
Oh, and in the spirit of today's proceedings between the worst 2 teams in the NFC, new rule that goes into effect now... and I'm sure everyone will agree with me on this... a tie counts as a loss.
Current Statuses. Winner to be declared as "Capo" after Week 17 or the playoffs, depending on if tiebreakers are necessary.

Anyone wishing to participate in this thread/game for 2019 MUST make a MNF prediction no later than the start of MNF games tomorrow night... or else they will not be eligible and will be deemed as "Fat Goombas"!!!
while i would prefer to save them for a later week, my experience with survival/suicide leagues is that usually a large batch of players get knocked out very early
for week 2 i'm picking patriots over dolphins on the road
I'm going JAX @ HOU for Week 2.
HOU thoroughly impressed me by almost beating an NFC contender, in one of the hardest stadiums to get a road win to boot. I didn't think Watson was that good, but he clearly can throw from the pocket if he has enough time. JAX still has some pass rush, but they're a s of 2017, and most importantly they have no quarterback. So, Houston should win by at least a couple touchdown.
okay... but be careful lol... a lot of people have lost big money over picking the patriots @ the dolphins in the Brady era
