I think this eliminates both teams from playoff contention... I know it's only week 1, but teams with ties rarely make it, it submarined all 4 teams that suffered a tie last season. Also both teams aren't very good.

that's why I said it's NOT ruined... but if it were any team of significance, then yes

Goodell needs to do away with these but I've been clamoring for this since they ed the OT period down to 10 minutes. FG kickoffs of increasing length, best kicker wins, team gets 3 points and the game. Therefore no offenses or defenses have to take field for more time than the regular OT period, and thus no injuries, and we still have a fun compe ion to watch at the end instead of a lame ass tie that murks up the records.

Given what I saw from Both teams I think the Lions and Cardinals will each be around 4-11-1 anyway. Murray played maybe the worst defense he'll face all year, unless they play the Buccaneers.
