not really. he's making a play that he understands could have real consequences. in the modern gop saying anything bad about trump is akin to political suicide. but voting for his removal... its truly beyond comprehension. and he did it. and he's reasoned about it.
i've always liked willard to some extent... i even voted for him in 2012 (even though if i could go back i probably wouldnt do the same... i dont think he's amoral like trump/mcconnell, i just disagree him him on policy)

romney... cruz... graham. all of them were talking mad about trump after he announced his candidacy. heck even at the convention, cruz had his whole "vote your conscience" line, which was basically his way of not really endorsing trump, such that if trump lost, cruz would be primed for a 2020 run. and i didnt mind graham. during the primaries i said he was my favorite among the GOP crowd (but really disliked his hawk mentality)
but in the end, cruz caved. graham has full TDS and is bootlicker #1. he's lost any shred of integrity he had, which is particularly disappointing to me given the above. but willard has shown principle
