One hypothesis is that courts will take the question in an expedited fashion.
If a court decides quickly there's a crime involved, a claim of executive privilege could evaporate faster than expected.
Ergo, the Trump reluctance to declare privilege.
He has no other choice, Winester. & nothing to lose by taking it to the courts & starting as low a court as he can get into.
Once the parade starts there will be no staunching it.
& each day is going to bring a new leak, a new book, a new opine (like Kelly today)---the D's, in association with Media know this book & execute it to-the-letter.
Two choices:
1. Court.
2. No Court.

Hard to say. Legal process is unpredictable. I honestly thoight there'd never be witnesses. That could change the optics of survival values for GOP Senators.
Then again it might not. They might say, we saw the witnesses, we're still not convinced.
Not an easy call. It's hard to predict how the drip drip drip of derogatory information will affect Trump. It might not.
He's survived a lot already. Maybe America prefers fascism to taxes for good stuff we all need.

Like you said earlier, Thread, if 5 GOP Senators break, the distance between 5 and 20 is maybe less than the party discipline of zero to four.
If the dam breaks, improbabilities might come in.

it was a memo compiled by people based on their recollections of the call. its not what anybody would refer to as a transcript.
yes you can get hyper technical and show that the 3rd definition from this source says that a transcript can mean this or that, but we all know what the term transcript typically refers to, and there's a reason the released memo goes out of its way to point out that it is not a verbatim trasncript aka an actual line by line representation of what was said by the people on the call
