For all intents and purposes Roberts is a solid red judge. Voted down the voters rights act, voted in favor of citizens united. The only major ruling Roberts went against Republicans on was Obamacare but the ruling was cons utionally sound.
One thing I will give you is that I think GWB almost ed up when he tried nominating they Harriet Myers broad, but that fell through.

Bull . Bush 41 was supposed to be a squish but he nominated Clarence Thomas who is the most conservative justice out there by many scores.
