    How do any of those things have to do with getting a conviction?

    Everyone knows why he was acquitted. Most Republican Senators are either ignorant, are intentionally politically dishonest, or are spineless cowards. Or all of the above. The failure to get a conviction is directly tied to those Republican Senators. Having the presidency, the House, the polls, the media, even the Senate has nothing to do with it. Having a 50+1 Senate when you need 67 votes means nothing.
