With the discount, it just hammers home the point that Murray is proud to be a Spur and legitimately enjoys playing in San Antonio. Good , PATFO and to our new Chosen One!!!!
Looking like Jakob will be an RFA.
Remember this tweet from Dejounte back in May, responding to someone who posted a (since deleted) tweet saying that Dejounte was going to go to the Lakers now that he had signed with Klutch. He wasn’t lying.
THE LEADER
Yeah, Spurs don't have much motivation to offer him a contract starting at more than $5 million and he doesn't have much motivation to sign it. Probably best for both sides to wait until next summer.
No DeRozan extension - thank you!
(also this deal is fine)
Yes, this will be really interesting. If he were a free agent this summer, his value would probably be in the $80 million range. But if he actually spends a season as strictly a backup point guard, his value will drop.
Early to say but that could be some tricky negotiating next summer. Even more complex than Murray, which was already really complex due to his missed season.
I'm waiting to exhale until Woj or Shams says no deal. With these things, you only need to start the process before 6 p.m. ET ... could still be another 30 minutes for all the deals to be announced.
yes! DJ is going to make plenty of fans this season if he can stay healthy. time to shine!
That's gotta be a sobering thought for a lot of people... everyone except for Patty who got his.
It's funny how most on this forum act like Murray, White and Walker are proven all stars that have been in a bunch of all star games and have won numerous awards. Murray is better than Leonard, Walker averages 28 points a game, White is Ginobili.
I don't care that he got his ass whooped from an NFL player over an IG thot and he seems immature.
I want Malik Beasley on the Spurs.Do it RC! Or the new guy. Or Pop.
Whoever is in charge,do it.
i think we're good on guards dude. we needs forwards
So so glad that Dejounte won’t be a RFA tbh. No chance now to screw this up.
PATFO

I was thinking of him more like a Forbes replacement at the 2,small ball SF.
I'm high on the kid but obviously he's gonna be too expensive in RFA.
Not so well earned, but a very reasonable bet on Dijon and his future. He is the absolute best hope for leadership the Spurs have in the current vacuum. I believe that is why Pop is so high on him - and with good reason. I hope he lives up to his promise as a leader and becomes a true star and the face of the franchise.
Great deal for Murray and the Spurs.
For Murray, he gets a great deal considering he is mostly unproven and coming off a major injury.
For the Spurs, this will be a discount if Murray continues his current projection and rises to the level he seems to be aiming for.
For both sides, no wonders or doubt hanging over the entire season...go out and earn that money, DJ
