Nephew signed an extension too. I mean I hope he remains loyal to the Spurs, but this doesn't make him more loyal than Neph or prove that he'll always stick around. If he really blows up there's no telling what he'll do for his next (in his prime) contract, tbh.
Dude-- you don't get people. Are you not paying attention to what Dejounte has been saying for the last two years. He gets it -- He's a SPUR

For a guy who's just returning from a year-long injury, and who's a defensive specialist in a shooter's league, he couldn't expect any more.
thats the point, i really dont understand those who thinks he should be paid more. Compering him to f.e hield or brown is ridicoulous. Brown has shown that he can be a great player and carry the team during the PO, hield has definetely better stats than murray and his contract is only slightly bigger than murray.

What a life changing moment for Dejounte. So happy for him. This changes everything for him and his family and even if he busts he’s secure the rest of his life. Incredible.
Are you a relative or what?

It's incredible cos even if he busts, yoowhoo, he's set for life anyway! So happy!

Good for him but do you think he cares about your and your family's future? , he already made more on his 2 years contract than what everyone will make in their entire life, not to mention endorsements and whatnots.

It's about basketball and what this contract means for the SPURS future that we only care here. And it won't be incredible and SPURS fans won't still be happy for his family if he busts.

Six facts for certain next free agency:

Next years free agents are sheit.
Tons of bottom feeder teams are going to have tons of money to spend with nowhere to spend it.
DeRozan is going to get VERY BIG offers and Spurs will have to pay a lot to sign him.
Forbes is going to get big offers and Spurs will have to pay to sign him.
Spurstalk fan will will be ing large.

Bonus fact. Murray was a GREAT signing.

... and I’d trade DeRozan but highly, highly doubt Spurs will. Maybe if Walker busts out early.

he’s talking the talk for sure

even if he decides to go elsewhere in 3-4 years, so far from what we’ve seen from him, at least he is unlikely to set fire to the place and piss all over it on his way out like a certain someone did

You guys have become so paranoid after the Kawhi drama. Before Leonard, our stars stayed and I fully expect Murray to be a Spur for life. Also, this contract is going to look even better after we see him play this year. All signs point to him having a big year with s om being around the corner.

Right now, with the loss of Bertans, Forbes is the only reliable floor spacer unless you count Mills. I bet he stays with the Spurs at a price a lot of Spurstalk posters about and the Spurs ride out Mills contract.

Not only that, but he's about as Spursy as American millenials get. I'd be shocked if he weren't re-signed.

Barring the unforeseen development of at least 2 of DeRozan, Murray, White and Walker, becoming solid volume 3-point shooters in short order, I expect DeRozan or White to eventually be moved. It's possible Murray's head get's too big and alters this, but White's lack of confidence is a more pressing concern.

It's too early to start a debate on how much is a fair price for Forbes and i don't think we could be fair towards him without getting at least a sample of how he's performing this year.

On the other hand i could say a priori that i think a fair price for him is half of what Chinook says he's worth and i'll be pretty close to being accurate!

Bryn Forbes was #9 in the NBA in 3G% (.426), and the Spurs paid him $3M. In a league that values nothing so much as a 3 pointer, he's going to make a LOT more than that next summer, like 3,4 times that amount.

that's still less than what Mills is being paid

If Forbes plays like he did in the preseason in the regular season, it'd take like $80 million to re-sign him.

@ imagining that Spurs fan meltdown
