Wombat coming in at the end, putting in the work to get his lifetime contract.
Good stuff. Congrats to Dejounte for beating the incredibly slim odds

And it's good to see that RC is still involved. Hadn't seen him around much recently.

Was just about to post this - no way is Patty getting traded now - he's the hype man for contract signings...

I hope demar tears his Achilles so we don’t sign his bum ass tbh
    Think again.
If DeMar gets injured he's opting in so we're stuck with him until 2021.

Then during his rehab he mentions how helpful the Spurs have been and how they are the model franchise for every sports team and the Spurs reward him with a 4/80 loyalty contract.

There's only one way out of this.
DeRozan has a career year,he's so damn good that he buys into his hype, bets on himself and opts out. Then another desperate team offers him a max deal and he signs elsewhere.

So,you have to root for DeRozan this year!

A good contract for the Spurs, I thought Klutch would have pushed for something around $90M. I guess they realise Murray needs more development from the Spurs and aim for a big contract after this one.

    Thanks Jeff

Not an unlikely scenario; however, as long as he wears silver and black I would have rooted for him any way.

Nephew signed an extension too. I mean I hope he remains loyal to the Spurs, but this doesn't make him more loyal than Neph or prove that he'll always stick around. If he really blows up there's no telling what he'll do for his next (in his prime) contract, tbh.

It's still unclear what his ceiling is, but unless he suffers another significant injury, there's almost no way this doesn't turn out to be a team friendly contract. Even if he tops out as something like a low end starter, it's a fair deal. Anything above that and it's a bargain.

Unless you're referring to the timing (which makes no sense, because this time of year is extension season and obviously they'd have been better served trying to leverage his injury/relative lack of body of work), he wasn't . . . though to be fair, he didn't make a prediction, he made a prognostication.

He said $50-60M, but it came in at $64M, with bonuses that could push it to $70M . . . as usual, I was right.
Look TD 21, we all know you are the real brains of Spurstalk and trust me when I say we all feel a little smarter when you bless us with your knowledge, but let LJ have his lil victory. He may of been on to something.

DeRozan not getting an extension would be noteworthy enough for someone like Woj or Shams (or Jeff []) to find out specifically, I'd imagine.
his getting an extension would also be noteworthy enough to get picked up considering it would almost certainly be 100 mil+

How much did DJ get on his shoe contract? With that and this contract, if he's smart with his money, he's set for life at 23.

Props to him man. Love his at ude.

    LOL. $64M isn't enough?

Besides, it's his next shoe deal that's really going to be big.

Coach Timmy should give all young players a cautionary tale on the needs of prenups.

White should be thrilled that Spurs have a history of over-paying backup point guards. Especially ones with a good at ude.

When D.J. was drafted, I can’t remember if it was pop or rc but Murray said they told him, we want to make you great like kawhi. I don’t know if he can get there but he definitely believes he can be great. He doesn’t seem to have that loser mentality (Aldridge/derozan) Damn I wish he could just cut those two outright. Murray has that fire that this team has been lacking since TD/Manu left. I’m looking forward to watching him play this year. Congrats D.J.

For a guy who's just returning from a year-long injury, and who's a defensive specialist in a shooter's league, he couldn't expect any more.
