RJ wasn't a representative of the best of Spurs eras within the TD era, but he played with heart, passion, played within the system, made 3 pointers, played defense, and was one of the guys.

DePression is a ballhog, no-defense, Ricky Davis clone, choking loser, representative of the worst Spurs era of basketball since the 1980s.

You could be right but the guy didn't even ask to be here. This current offsetting of Spurs greatness is due to one piece of and one piece of only....... and you KNOW that's KAWHI LEONARD's ass and his ass uncle. I would also say Pop's ego/system may be at fault as well.

I still think there's some hope with this squad. We'll see.

BTW, the following is a load of bull . I know this guy.

The one moment I can remember about RJ is him being open at the 3 point line with no defender in sight and not knowing whether to shoot the ball or pass it. I believe it was against Sacramento. RJ was only good for us in November but I never saw him consistently play with heart or passion or even play good defense. It was no surprise the team looked like a legit contender again when he was traded away.

I dislike Derozan and his game with a passion but he’s still better than RJ. It’s only demar’s expensive contract that makes him worse than RJ ever was.

    Better player VS better fit.

RJ would fit better next to Murray and White since he shot 40% from beyond the arc in his Spurs tenure with decent defense and ability to drive to the hoop.

DDR is simply the way better player despite the questionable fit.

I'm gonna say "no"...but this is obviously a contrarian post that intentionally goes against the obvious truth just for the sake of being different.

As a fellow contrarian myself, I understand the urge. This time it's just too obvious to be effective.

Like the Spurs had about 25 better players come across the Spurs between 2002-2008 that were better than Bruce Bowen, but Brucie was always the best fit. And he was a 3 time champion full time starter with us, played every single game except for a few suspensions.

OP probably never saw Jefferson play during his time on the Spurs. I'd take DDR and his depression over the Spurs' version of RJ any day of the week if we're choosing teams.
