The Spurs have to improve upon last year's road record. You have to be able to win road games to advance in the playoffs. So, can they? Yes.
This Spurs team will be 3rd seed when things settle down. Murray/White will close and protect the lead. Lyles, I’m hoping, will get better and comtribute 8pts 8 rebs. We have a deeper bench and that what counts in the playoffs. I see us taking the Lakers or the Nuggets in the 2nd round.
The two biggest factors will be Murray and White. Both can be third stars easily. Lyle's could also make everyone better by becoming an elite shooting big. The pieces are there but alas DeroZan and LMA and aren't enough by themselves. So who knows, that's we we play the games

Making the PO for the 23rd time in a row will already be a huge accomplishment. Barring injuries for the opposing team, there is no way this year's Spurs win an away series.
That's the truth and I like White. Put Dejounte in that same situation and we win that game 7 but the thing is without White we don't even win 3 games to begin with.

Certainly. The Spurs would only be significant underdogs against the Lakers or Clippers if the playoffs started today, imo.
They have enough talent to do so but I'm not sure they have the desire. Last year they showed their lack of heart (not brains) when no one knew they needed to foul. How THE does that happen if you want to win? How do you not know what the score is? Just awful.
The vets on this roster need to be shook. Deciding when you "feel" like taking 3 pointers or deciding when you feel like being aggressive or bringing your "A" game screams en lement and comfort. all that. Trade their asses and let the rocker room know thats now how this team rolls. You want winners, you want players with a desire to win and players who have some "nasty". Anything less won't be tolerated or coddled.
Ugh, this franchise has some work to do to shift the culture back to winning.
