Let’s see after the minute restriction. Pop did want to put a more defensive team than last year.
Also, Pop is the jackass that put this team together.
Coaching isn't fixing a terrible roster with ty talent. Pop's biggest fault is that he's also largely responsible for the roster we have.
The pets play because he keeps them in the team. Being critical of Pop is both roster and coaching rolled into one. That’s a given.
Sometimes an assistant coach can have an impact -- like the new "defensive" assistant coach at UT under Shaka Smart.
Usually, you need a coach who feels he's about to be fired for that to happen.
I don't see that happening with the Spurs.
