For better or *ahem* worse, Coach Pop seems to have designated Demar to attempt to close out games.

No doubt he’s got the tools “on paper”: experience, dribbling, shooting, passing, finishing ... But results have been less-than-satisfying to many of the Spurs faithful.

If you were Pop, who would you pick to close out games?

Not him. Ever again. He goes in out of control, makes some ridiculous spin move and either loses the ball or throws up a shot trying to get to the line.

It should be White. Penetrate and score or kick to a shooter.

The fact that the team needed a closer against the Grizzlies at home. The issue isn’t who should be the closer, it’s that they even need one to begin with against ty teams.

Thats on Pop. Non championship level roster management, poor coaching decisions and rotations. He needs to retire

(going forward I’d say Aldridge, White or Murray)

D White should have the ball in his hands, ready to make the decision to pass or shoot.

If DeRozan is shooting a three late in a close game, you're doing exactly what the opposing coach and team want you to do.

A combination of Derrick and dejounte. Preferably derrick. He's much smarter than DeMar and has a higher IQ and wherewithal than dejounte.

    Closing lineup

important- with less than 5 minutes to go, take DDR out. Have him play the entire 4th up until that point.

white - ball in his hands as time goes down and have him run the offense
murray - will be good if a rebounding is needed or on defense as well. needs to work on outside shot some more but it will get there I faith in him
gay - “not that guy” has no fear of taking and making clutch shots. More than anything I just don’t want to finish the game with DDR.
lyles - good for rebounding. He has a knack for getting offensive rebounds as well. and he can hit a 3
aldridge - is good down low if he gets good position.

this lineup is not so great offensively but we need defense/rebounding. Transition points can occur and pts from fouls as well.

There isn't a player on this roster worthy of being a closer. Why not just run a play and try to get the best shot?

Isn't that pretty much what Dwane Casey did with him in the '18 playoffs?

For this team it should be Derrick. But we are ed since that is the case. Derrick is a 15 and 5 ceiling type of guy. No championship team would ever have Derrick White as the closer

This is the perfect year to tank. Shed DDR's salary. Bench Marco and give Lonnie minutes and trade LMA to Portland for Whiteside. We aren't winning anything this year. It's time to rebuild.

The closer doesn’t have to be the best iso player or scorer. Derrick has the best distribution skills, vision, and is calm. He’s the best fit right now for it

Only way they tank is if Pop resigns. The rafters have the big 3 already, so I cannot believe anyone would pay to see this team. I'd rather watch the G league.

There's levels of tanking. They won't punt the playoff streak prematurely, but once it does happen I think change will come quickly. This year should be a mix of development and regular vet play. Next year we can tank once we know what DeroZan will do

Closer has to be able to dribble through double teams, maintain the ball in his hands, get points needed (3 vs 2) and/or get fouled and make the FTS. We don't have anyone on this team who can do that right now. That;s just the way it is.

There's no good option right now but it's definitely not Derozan. He's the most anti-clutch player I've ever seen. His go to moves in the final three minutes of a game:

    1. Drive into traffic and turn the ball over
    2. Get blocked while attempting a layup
    3. Brick a mid-range jumper
