Well, when you shoot well, you can beat any team, especially bad defensive teams. But is SA out gunning normal opponents going to work? SA defense is still hemorrhaging points; but they are shooting scorching hot themselves so it’s not apparent.

I thought Jakob helped protect the paint much better than Lyles did.

I wouldn’t be surprised is the Spurs lose some of their youth - White or Lonnie especially. If you are that much better than Beli/Mills/Forbes yet don’t get to play for a team that is losing? It’s one thing if you are winning, another to sit there watching guys everyone knows don’t deserve to play.

Would not be surprised to see one included in a trade or possibly leave in free agency due to this.

Our young players will never grow if they aren't put in a position to be successful... Trotting DJ out there with those guys is literally the worst possible situation he could be in because he MUST give them the ball or else they will mentally check out the game

No issues starting Jakob - he’s a great defender (even on the perimeter) when he’s playing well. It’s the quad-grouping of Beli/Mills/Forbes/DeRozan that is the issue especially when 2 or more play at the same time.

Winning recipe for now and the future. I’m sure the young guys will take super kindly to being phased out and leashed and admonished while the scoring hot, 100% results/effort vets like Mills/Beli get to run wild.

I guess the young guys can’t get too mad; that’s just what happens unfortunately when you play on a legit contender.
