For the Record... Pop was right. He wasn't ready. The day he was ready I posted to FKLA. There was no cover up. Early in the season he hadn't found his peace. No matter what your philosophy is about playing time all that matters is he has arrived.

Y'all act like he was ready for this the whole season. He wasn't. He is now.He said it himself the "non compe ive" talk motivated him. He ain't soft. He got that superstar mentality. He was born for this.
Bull . He wasn't playing as the Spurs went to 7-14. We knew in the preseason he was ready. Pop nut sac eaters gonna still say he's not ready when he gets benched again too.

I would rather have seen him learn it on the court. What could have happened - the Spurs might lose?
that's fair hence the philosophy of playing time... IMO he would've rose to this any way you sliced it... pop chose the less popular path.. you just never know, it will be speculation. all we know is that what he did worked like it or hate it

Lonnie is someone we can get excited about. This was the second game this year that was truly enjoyable (beating the Clips and turd boy was great too).

This reminds me of the legendary Malik Rose Breakout Game in 1999 in Philadelphia. Rose emerges from the shadows to take over with his family going crazy in the stands. He then remained in the rotation for good after that.

Man ... can't find any video of that game

The Spurs are watchable again. However, watch Pop give Lonnie a DNP next game . I think this game officially makes Marco the old Patty.. wave them towels.

Man, just think of Dejounte/White/Lonnie on the wings.

Murray has been absolutely horrible but the defensive potential of those guys would be so damn good. You could even play trash ass Demar with that lineup and get away with it

It's time to trade the anti-big three(LMA, DD, Gay,) and let the youth play. They are ready.

I said it in the game thread - if Lonnie plays like this, I think he'll give Murray a lift. Maybe I just want to believe, but that kind of play is contagious.

Meh - Poeltl too. He's been working his ass off.

Remember when people were saying that he sucked based on a couple minutes of play and some scattered minutes in garbage time. Jeeeeezus

Is bench8ng lamarcus to clear driving lanes a necessary change? I remember pop was going to try and have the Spurs run, and Aldridge is the main impediment to that. Lonnie may be smMart enough to play at high tempo, but is it worth teaching him to defer to Mr my touches? I think Aldridge may get some of that load management soon

The thread I want to see is what’s Pop going to do about Lonnie being too good to be chained to garbage time. I imagine Belli is done as a rotation player but who knows? I’d like to see Bryn get less minutes too but that’s wishful thinking with Pop, but I can hope.

    Yep.

I'm telling you. Put Murray in a better situation and I think he'll get his groove back too. I hope Pop has it in him to embrace the future. They would have some bad games, but I'd much rather live or die with the young guys and their energy.
