And the Suns are one game in the loss coming behind the Spurs. Go Suns!
I’m hoping for 14th seed in the West. if this team can actually get a lower record than the Warriors though.

Memphis is about to be one game below .500 (hopefully not jinxing it) while the Spurs are six below .500 and have a tough schedule including the RRT.

this one is over; this team doesn't have the dudes with the love and fire to right the ship. Just a bunch of losers earning a paycheck.
I put a lot of blame for Pop for that. When these guys see Pop playing Belli,Forbes in the 4th quarter and blow leads it's going to be demoralizing for them. Pop has lost 7-8 games this year by playing that putrid combo.

Tankathon is looking mighty y specially getting a top six pick. If the draft sucks, trade that pick + LMA/DeRozan (whatever) to get something decent in return. A good high pick is looking mighty realistic.

Don't think we can trade DDR this summer. He will be a FA.

Funny to think Spurs had some of their best wins of the season this month but still have a 7-8 record in the month of January while the Grizzlies could be looking at a 10-3 record in January if they beat Denver today.

Sure beats watching Brent Forms guard LeBron in the 4th quarter of a 1st round matchup while Becky, Lonnie and co. shake their heads on the bench staring at Pop.

You are wrong Mills would be guarding Lebron in the 4th.

"These issues at the top of the class are emblematic of this draft's overall issues. It would be harsh to say the class is bad, although few could realistically critique some who says as much.

This year's group just appears to find itself beholden to a significant number of swing skills that will make or break individual prospects. If the switch flips in the right direction, we could look back at the pre-draft analysis and have a hearty laugh at how wrong we all were. If it doesn't, things could get ugly, and the draft could struggle to produce many relevant NBA pieces. Perhaps we can agree to call it highly variable rather than just outright bad."

I have a low expectations for this draft but I would like to see the Spurs get a good 3-D perimeter defender out of this draft. No more midgets.

Jaden McDaniels and Precious Achiuwa are intriguing wings who can play d and have improving (but still questionable) 3 point shooting.

Spurs really need to hope that Memphis loses to Denver because if they don't and we lose to Utah, then we'll be 3 games back of the 8th seed.
Memphis wins. SA is in big trouble.

Everyone focusing on only the draft for this season. What makes y'all think the Spurs will be out of the gutter after a single pick? We can address an immediate need with a lower ceiling prospect in this weak draft then look to strike gold by all-out tanking next season from the get-go, whilst we're too late for this one even if the Spurs decided tomorrow to throw it out the window. A new coach, big PT for the young players, and a healthy dose of losses for 20-21 and we might be on the next Luka, Young etc.

NO, Suns and Portland are all closer to SA than SA is to the 8th seed. But yeah.

Memphis wins. Suns win. NO wins. POR, PHX and NO all within 1.5 games of SA and SA is looking at being 3 back of MEM if they lose to UTA tomorrow. With a loss tomorrow Spurs will find themselves as close to the 13th seed as they are the 8th with very slim chance to even finish the year with a .500 record (let alone winning record). Staring down a losing season and I don’t care if that somehow miraculously still nets them a PO spot, that is completely unacceptable and they cannot keep this core together.

Whether it’s this deadline or the Summer, drastic changes are in store. Either invest in winning for real or go the other way. No more can they just coast on their past accomplishments. Tim isn’t here any more. They have to do the work.

The fact that they really truly think being a playoff team matters when they have a losing record and are just as close to the bottom of the West as a playoff team is astonishing to me.

This could get really ugly for the Spurs nearly all teams near them have 20 wins and if Memphis goes on a big losing streak they will drop in the standings and the 8th seed is going to be an ugly battle. Pretty much the only team there I don't expect to make the playoffs in the West is the Warriors and how odd does that sound, lol. Though they still have a shot if they go on a 10 game winning streak and other teams like Spurs, Grizz, Blazers, Wolves, etc lose more games than they should.

Really ugly 8th seed battle shaping up for the rest of the regular season unless OKC, Mavs or Rockets start losing more and more. Figures first real season the Spurs struggle in like 22 seasons the West playoffs from 7,8 and down is an ugly mess. If Spurs make it to playoffs consider it a blessing in disguise. Though this all is likely going to come down the last game of the NBA season if this trend continues.
