They basically kept The Clapper for a few more 8-8 seasons.

I like it. McCarthy won a SB, always had a compe ive team and did with a lot less talent than the team he'll have in Dallas.

Rodgers was the real coach of those teams. This is the equivalent of an NBA team hiring Ty Lue as their head coach because LeGOAT carried him to a championship.

I don't disagree with the hire, but that Packers' SB team was loaded with talent. Dallas needs a defensive overhaul.

This team he's getting is probably one of the most talented in the league and arguably one of the best he's ever coached. I agree they need a homerun hire D coordinator. I wouldn't mind Marvin Lewis taking over the defense and letting MM focus on the offense. Also need a good ST coach. Dallas had the worst ST in the league this year, just trash.

McCarthy hired Dom Capers as his defensive coordinator in Green Bay and refused to move on from him no matter how many playoff games their "defense" choked away. Cowboys fans hoping for some amazing DC hire are setting themselves up for disappointment.

Legit question, not trying to argue because I don't know much about either. Why are people here generally so high on Sean Payton but completely on Mike McCarthy?

If you look at regular season record, postseason record, NFCCG appearance, and Super Bowl wins their resumes are practically identical on all categories. The teams have looked similar too. Elite QB with decent offensive weapons with hit or miss defenses depending on the year

Rodgers isn't at his peak prime anymore. McFatass wasted most of those years.

Rodgers played poorly multiple times in the playoffs. It's always someone else's fault but not Rodgers's. After decline in his receiving core he was never the same

All they need to do now is grossly overpay the most average QB in the NFL and get to work on that upcoming 8-8, 7-9 season next year.
