I mean, the reality too is that if you're a subcontractor working for a Fortune 500 company, you don't really have leverage.

If the company says it won't do business with unvaccinated people, it's actually very cheap for the company to drop a subcontractor off.

There's no labor law issues, there's no compensation required, so mandating this on contractors is very easy for a large company.
    This already happens

a lot of companies will like the mandate. compliance will protect them from COVID liability.
A lot of savvy companies will try to get out ahead of it. Imagine the cost in manpower to suddenly have this looming over your productivity. Just the threat of it will lead to a lot of pressure to vaccinate.

    Unreliable.

You don't have to be 'scared' of anything to do the right thing. This is like having a tempest in a teapot over wearing a mask in public.
Doing the right thing is your opinion tbqh. Like abortion..

We're way past any argument that contradicts vaccines being overwhelmingly effective at tangibly reducing death, hospitalization, time to recovery, etc from this disease.

That's not an opinion, it's supported by reality. It might be more or less effective on different people and virus variants, but vis a vis completely unvaccinated people in the grand scheme, there's no comparison.

In that context, and with very few exceptions, 'doing the right thing' can be summed up as being a responsible member of society.

I don't have a problem with people disagreeing either, up until that disagreement turns into a drag in the same society I live in, and starts to affect me directly. At that point giving a pass/ignoring it isn't an option anymore.

Just gotta hope we stand fast in the ranks. We've been intractable to this point. It's like in -Zulu-...now we must build our triple redoubt and make our stand.

It's like -Assault on Precinct 13- the old one. This is now a blooded feud. We have to hold 'em off, take 'em one at-a-time as they come over the wire.

It's like Bowie -The Alamo- the new one...they prop him up in that bed, set a single shot in each hand, he 's em...with his namesake close.

It's like -Drums Along the Mohawk- when they fort up, set the cannon just inside the front gate, and load it with powder and nails, what not. Then raise up the board holding the gate shut and move out of the way. KABOOM!!! Blasts hair all over creation.

It's like -The Searchers- when The Duke catches up to Scar and scalps that red .

It's like in -Red Dawn- the old one when Harry Dean gathers his son's close and implores them such:::

We don't shut down society for any of those, and we certainly have laws and mandates to regulate drinking, smoking, drug use and fighting...

A good start would be that hospitals are required to leave a certain % of their ICU beds open for non-COVID emergencies, with exceptions made for COVID emergencies involving a vaccinated person.

Generally I'm all for the rights of the unvaccinated to kill themselves and each other, but steps need to be taken to prevent them from exhausting all of the resources from others.
Healthcare is a human right to many on the left but here you are trying to withhold Healthcare.

Who are we saving the hospital beds for? Only people that made optimal health based decisions and ended up needing to go?

And if the numbers say obese people with the vaccine take up more beds shall we kick them to the curb for making irresponsible health related decisions?

The authoritarian left wants the government to control health care and if you don't live according to their wishes they want to restrict your access to health care.

I don't care what "many on the left" think, you asked me. And health care is not a right for most people on the Right, so what's your objection? Are you a Bernie socialist again on this one issue?

We'd be saving hospital beds for people who are not actively endangering others by refusing a free vaccine that could prevent them from making other people sick.

You don't think healthcare is a right until it affects you.

The authoritarian logic is prevalent in those fighting to take away gun rights to banning vape flavors. People remain silent and a culture of authoritarians grows.

I assure you there are plenty of fatasses with whom I'm not politically aligned. Vaccines aren't a political issue, they're a public health issue.

    Vaccinated illegal, 100%.

This is still the Land of Opportunity, and I'm a proud American.
