Have a friend with a "rare breakthrough" infection. She's very sick. Hope she doesn't have be hospitalized.
Mid 40s
95% protection against hospitalization (a la Moderna) means about one out of twenty breakthrough infections will result in hospitalization. For other jabs, the protection isn’t as good.
That stat doesn’t give any info about the rate of breakthrough infections for fully vaccinated folks, what stat are you using for that and who told you they were rare? What definition of rare do you have in mind? Can you quantify it?
Fully vaxed (2 shot) dropping like flies now in Israel tbqh
Where the are USA stats like this??? Id like to know how many JJ vaxed are dying
Nathans propaganda schtick.
We don't subsidize them. As a group the evidence we have shows they are productive
Unlike you. Gtfo
Hence the booster here, come Monday. All 350 million of us, + another 30 million wet (((will be mandated to get it.)))
(((They're))) massaging those very stats, hater.
I guess this is the best we can get:
During April 4–July 17, a total of 569,142 (92%) COVID-19 cases, 34,972 (92%) hospitalizations, and 6,132 (91%) COVID-19–associated deaths were reported among persons not fully vaccinated, and 46,312 (8%) cases, 2,976 (8%) hospitalizations, and 616 (9%) deaths were reported among fully vaccinated persons in the 13 jurisdictions (Table). The weekly prevalence of the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant increased from <1% to 90% during April 4–July 17. Full vaccination coverage increased from 19% to 54%; in the final week, coverage ranged by age group from 45% (in persons aged 18–49 years) to 73% (≥65 years).
So 10% of deaths in US were.fully vaxed. Last month
I would think August #s will be more grim. Possibly up to 20% of deaths.vaxed? Grim business
hater falls for the Simpson effect again.

TL;DR -- Vaccines worked and still work, boosted or not compared to unvaccinated. Boosters are working for those >60. Not enough data to know if boosters will make things any better for younger people because current numbers for the vaccinated in that group are just that good and not yet falling.
Airborne transmission of respiratory virusesImproving ventilation rates to reduce the carbon dioxide levels in under-ventilated buildings from 3200 parts per million (ppm) to 600 ppm (corresponding to an estimated increase of ventilation rate from 1.7 liters per second per person to 24 liters per second per person) has been shown to reduce the secondary attack rate of tuberculosis to zero (146).Once the mechanisms leading to airborne transmission are fully understood—acknowledging that transmission by aerosols is largest at close range—it becomes clear there is an overlap in precautions and mitigation measures for both droplets and aerosols (such as distancing and masks), but extra considerations must be taken into account for mitigating aerosol transmission at both short and long ranges. These include attention to ventilation, airflows, mask fit and type, air filtration, and UV disinfection, as well as distinguishing measures between indoor and outdoor environments. Although our knowledge is still increasing, enough is already known to add protective measures to better protect against airborne transmission of respiratory viruses, noting that “droplet precautions” are not replaced but instead expanded.https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abd9149Although more studies are needed, unequivocal evidence indicates that airborne transmission is a major pathway for the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and many other respiratory viruses. Additional precautionary measures must be implemented for mitigating aerosol transmission at both short and long ranges, with a major focus on ventilation, airflows, air filtration, UV disinfection, and mask fit. These interventions are critical strategies for helping end the current pandemic and preventing future outbreaks. It is important to note that these proposed measures to improve indoor air quality will lead to long overdue improvements that have health benefits extending well beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
Is/was she immuno compromised and/or did she likely get maced by virus in a particular setting?
Please dont make anything up, if you dont know just say so.
Freedom is so overrated unless you want to kill a fetus.
Was she wearing a mask? If so that's hard to believe.
ST's Cliff Clavin - expert on everything
Freedom to picnic in the Capitol.
Bring your mace.
Not at all. Bodily autonomy and the right to seek medical care are esssential.
Goalpost move duly noted.
Moved where?
Be specific.
These are Israel's numbers.
You didn't read the article so don't act like you aren't completely ignorant here.
Got it from her son. He barely had symptoms.
What part do you think I made up?
You still wear a mask at the drive thru and most likely will get your 3rd shot up the ass before thanksgiving
Lol
ignorant antivaxx vaccinated hater folds without even reading the article.
Your complete surrender is duly noted.![]()
Secondary infections from schoolkids bringing it home could be a major pandemic driver this fall in contrast to last year. When kids have a mild disease course they can still pass it on to more vulnerable people.
Put that sukcer in the White House right on the case, Winester.
Chop/chop.
