Two dose vaccination plus boosters, plus the various EUA theraputic pills and 2nd generation vaccines could change the game, if people are willing to take them.

For the first time since all this started, I'm modestly hopeful the light at the end of the tunnel isn't a locomotive.
Plural? Is this now a maintenance medication?

multiple vaccine boosters are hardly unusual.

the flu jab is redesigned annually.

Plenty of labs work with the viruses in China, the US and elsewhere. I completely dont trust you. so:

Dont you dare say it could have been a lab, after we have evidence it is a virus that is the progenitor of the different strains of Covid viruses we have now that cause the disease. This virus has mutated to new forms and plenty of labs work with them, growing them in cell culture in order to study them. Dont you dare fall back on 100s of labs work with the Corona virus . I have seen how disingenuous you can be.

Drop the change of function stuff then. "Its" still not gonna be leaked from a lab. It will have an animal origin just like so many of the viruses before. So you realize you will have the 1st virus leaked from a lab that has caused a world wide disease, only this is the biggest killer of all? Good.

    Bet on.
    Lab leak you leave.

    Zoonotic I leave.

    Bet on.

Different virus each year. It's not because of waning immunity. Noted that you compared it to the flu when it suited your argument.

Did he link the wrong article? Nothing in that article contradicts vaccines being safe and effective...

    He's saying "effective" is debatable.

Eventually people are going to start ignoring all the recommendations and just deal with the results, right or wrong. They do it now with their own PCP who they supposedly trust.

Why is it debatable? They're highly effective at combating the virus. Looking at the stats, that's a fact. They're not perfect, but I don't recall any vaccine ever being perfect.

Not really, no. There's zero chance of dying off of parking tickets. There's non-zero chance of dying of COVID.

I compared vaccines to vaccines. Not sure why a multi-dose schedule is disqualifying in your view, if regular boosters confer robust protection until more durable vaccines get here, what's the problem?

    It is what it is.
This was a very good vaccine for such a short start up.
What about AIDS, malaria, etc... ? Its very difficult. We should be elated this vaccine worked so well, but because so many people fear the autism and such, its ineffective. This is a totally different phenomena the red team has a problem understanding.

" You have to get a booster? This thing is . It failed! Plus it will kill you!"

Biggest mischaracterization for political and "muh rights" excuses that are just ridiculous.
The vaccine for this virus works damn well. If we would have been given this scenario BEFORE the vaccine we would have said " yes" in a heartbeat.

it's remarkable that we have a vaccine at all -- ordinarily the process takes years

Thats mostly the testing for efficacy and safety. We shortened that to weeks.

It's not been suggested that it be a maintenance medication. The issue is mandates and social stigma attached to adherence. The flu vaccine isn't mandated. I never saw anyone shunned for saying they don't get the flu vaccine.

I never saw 600,000 people die of the flu in a single year either.

Like it or not, public health restrictions and mandates are part of the traditional police power. You need to toughen up that candy ass.
