Insisting on a foolish consistency over change and emergent phenomena is more or less stupidity. Never trust someone who can't change their mind; objectivity itself changes, an inert mind is useless.
Every theory fails against reality itself.
Insisting lives don't matter because a utilitarian endpoint -- herd immunity, for example -- is good, is dog . Lives are lived in linear time, not temporal abstraction.
