A week (7 days) since symptoms you're shedding viral particles but highly unlikely it is infectious virus. Still may show + on a pcr test but that doesn't measure infectious virus.

I'll let you know when I get it provided I haven't had it already without symptoms. I never claimed I would never get it and my chances of getting it now are quite high. It's odd how eager you are for everyone else to get it after you instantly got it through your poor hygiene.

Nasal swabs are perhaps suboptimal to catch Omicron

Kind of makes me want to do a rapid test and do a throat swab since I have had a sore throat a few days after having some close contacts test positive a while back (a couple of PCR nasal swabs came back negative). But cedar pollen has been through the roof this week and that irritates the out of my throat too this time of year so it's not like having a really sore throat is unusual for me in January. Surprised to read nasal swab PCR only seemed to catch 6/7 omicron infections.
