COVID isn't the common cold
the "COVID emergency is over" CDC conference was a COVID superspreader event.
Sound off if you died 5 days ago!
I know someone that claimed they were in korea who has disappeared, if that is of any importance.
over a million americans died to covid and people still act like it was overblown. people were shrugging it off when we were having daily 911-esque death tolls. and who knows what the total numbers would have been but for the vaccines.
i dno what the magic number for deaths is before we can acknowledge that a disease was worth the attention it got.
a million people died with a certain level of covid antibody but I am not so sure of the causation.
Darrin is so bitter he didn't dieded.
It's weird how libs respond to these videos of them spouting now scientifically proven lies
Like what, SnakeBoy? Are you talking about anyone here, or just waving your hands at nobody?
Its weird how you can lie to yourself convincingly.
Part of the emergency is the damn thing was spreading so fast we filled up hospitals and burned out the medical community.
The Trump conservatives still dont believe what people actually lived through. "Stay home with your Covid because we cant deal with you in our hospitals."
Unvaccinated fools then replaced the first big surge to keep the medical community exhausted.
Totally forgotten like the sniveling cowards they are. Its still the sniffles for Snake Derp even though hospitals are not overwhelmed like before. Its not a cold virus.
The long term Covid is still becoming more relevant as we put this stuff together. And remember, tobacco in the lungs is fine, Snake's grandad, Evil Serpent, smoked till he was 86. And he is now 119.
Largest health emergency in a century by pretty much any metric, but muh sniffles and not in da zip code...
"The worst I felt was when I got the vaccine."
He's so close to understanding how vaccines work.
Meh AIDS was killing a million a year up until 04 and still are good for ~700k a year. Neither one is the bubonic plague.
Points taken. I'm not downplaying those, but AIDS transmission is substantially more difficult, at least compared to an airborne disease.
AIDS is certainly more comparable when it comes to modern standards of medicine.
That said, this thing shoot up as a top 3 leading causes of death (at least in the US) for a while, and that's something we haven't seen in decades.
Sure but the probability is only part of the risk calculation. It was an absolute death sentence up until the aforementioned date. I'll take long COVID and a daily regimen of methotrexate over 1990 AIDS.
I guess my point is what am I supposed to take from this? They have created an entire industry around the disease and given the nature of vaccines it is incredibly profitable. R&D will continue because of that regardless of political will. I wear a mask around at risk groups.
This is part of the incredible story.
The vaccine worked extraordinarily well. AIDS... no vaccine. And look how we had all these unvaccinated fools keeping the damn thing going. Fuel. It was super stupid.
It's a retrovirus. Vaccines are mitigated severely because of it. Like the flu.
Development in the AIDS treatments unquestionably assisted in the development of the COVID vaccination procedures. At least here there is a groundswell of support for research. With AIDS, it was labeled the gay disease and ignored for a decade.
We failed miserably in the outbreak response both times.
Yep. And AIDS could be "ignored" because it was not nearly as transmissible and was easily blamed on immoral behavior. It was not nearly as acute a problem. It could be forgotten about as it did not cause entire medical complexes to be overwhelmed. But it did have its very scary " moment" as... no cure.
The huge failure with Covid to begin was with the leader of your country plays to the no vaccine crowd was a tremendous part of the problem imo.
The advances made in vaccines is pretty incredible. Its why China has paid a bigger price, ty vaccine.
Malaria is still the biggest killer caused by pathogenic organisms. The thread on Malaria is non existent on this board. So I get it.
Misinformation. Vaxxed were getting it and spreading it.
Bull .
The worst cases were nonvaxers going to the hospital AFTER the vaccine was finished and in use (and going in with full blown symptoms)
Thats when we still had difficulty treating them in hospitals. Vaccinated people had much milder symptoms; they symptoms were on the whole not requiring intensive treatment.
You are absolutely wrong.
Basically what you are saying is the vaccine did not do anything to help in the US.
that’s pure and simple bull .
Either Trump s are pathological liars or they don’t understand the types of symptoms the vaccines aided in preventing.
Or both…. Probably both.
Disingenuous Darrin
He's taking the fact that retrovirus vaccines are not 100% effective and grandstanding on it. He really is not that stupid. He just likes to shill.
